Gole Gole1 5-Inch Dual Boot Mini PC With HDD Dock

Gole Gole1 5-Inch Dual Boot Mini PC With HDD Dock

This one’s a bit of an oddball hybrid. If you remember the Pipo X9 mini PC with a tablet screen in it I reviewed a while ago, this is similar. The Gole1 has a 5″ screen (Not sure how practical that will be for Windows) with a 1280 x 720 resolution. It’s powered by an Atom X5 Z8300 (No surprise there) and has 4GB of RAM and a 64GB eMMC.

It has hardware volume, home and power buttons. As well as a full sized HDMI out, 2 x USB 2.0 ports and a USB 3.0 port. D/C in charging wireless and a 100mbits LAN port. It’s also got a microSD slot and runs Android 5.1 and Windows 10.

It also features a 2.5″ dock that you can add a 2.5″ hard drive or SSD in up to 2TB and it slots into the bottom of it.

Gearbest has it for $138.59 with coupon GBGF4 here: http://www.gearbest.com/tv-box-mini-pc/pp_372953.html

  1. Back in the early 2Ks there was a company called OQO, went bust 2009, which made very small tablets about this size. They ran Win 2K, XP, eventually Vista, and had Wacom stylus and attached keyboard, but at the time, they were incredibly exotic and high end, around USD1500 when they collapsed. Oh, and sl-o-o-o-w, although it was like the dancing bear: it’s not how well it dances, it’s that it can dance. I’m buying this Gole on impulse, like a packet of gum at the supermarket checkout. Amazing.

  2. Atom do not support SATA port, so external HDD case connect only with USB. I hope with USB 3.0 but I’m afraid only USB 2.0 ….
USB 2.0 speed is no more tahan 40 Mb/s, and requires lot of CPU works…

  3. Should cost like $90. Too expensive for what you get IMO.

    • Not sure what use the dock is. How difficult is it to plug in a USB 3.0 external HDD?

  4. This is quite literally, exactly what i needed.

  5. I guess this is the same as this crowd funding campaign https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/gole1-cheapest-windows10-intel-touch-mini-pc#/
