GameSir G3S Enchanced Edition Review

GameSir G3S Enchanced Edition Review

The market is flooded with Bluetooth controllers, but this one caught my eye due to its multiplatform support and mostly due to the fact it has a mount that will allow you to support your mobile (Up to 6″) in the in controller itself.

It supports PC controller via BT, and the included 2.4Ghz nano USB receiver if you don’t have Bluetooth on your PC. iOS, PS3 and Android. Charging take around 2-3 hours and it’s good for around 18 hours of gameplay, if you have the light’s on and using games with lots of rumble feedback then that time will be less of course.

The GameSir G3S is comfortable to hold and lightweight. They layout is like an Xbox 360 controller, the buttons have a good feel to them and the D-Pad and analog thumb sticks. The triggers are analog to but don’t have a rumble feature like Xbox one controllers.

I think this is quite a decent controller and mine will get some use mostly as an Android controller and you’ll be seeing it from time to time in my gaming reviews for mobiles and tablets.

Pros:

  • Solid build
  • Good ergonomics
  • Multiplatform support
  • Support for mobiles (Up to 6 inches)
  • Turbo feature (Good for shoot-em-ups)
  • Backlit buttons (Can be disabled)

Cons:

  • Slow to charge (2-3 hours) Fast charging would be better
  • Can’t take mobile bigger than 6″ I could not use my Xiaomi Mi Max (6.44″) or Zenfone 3 Ultra (6.8″)

I got this from Geekbuying here $27 with coupon GameSir-G3s

  1. I would really like to get a Mi max and a gamesir controller, but I see you stated that it does not fit.
Could you please verify that again because if I google “Gamesir mi max” I get a hit from youtube showing a guy having it setup.

  2. Chris, when I try to apply the coupon code GameSir-G3s, GeekBuying throws an error code saying “Sorry, the coupon code is not valid for orders less than USD 32.”, when the order value is actually for $32.99!

Did you have the same problem? Or does the coupon code have a typo?

  3. how does the 2.4 ghz work on pc? presumably plug and play and works well with any steam controller game? any noticeable input lag?

whats the maximum distance on 2.4ghz between receiver and controller in real life?

    • Works just fine. Distance, well it covers the whole room. Can see any input lag.

  4. Does it have xinput or only dinput ?
