So I noticed over the last few days that if I leave my chuwi on standby with ~50% battery it will die in an hour or two and be completely empty. No problem, the last few times I just plugged it in and started charging.

Last night however same thing happened again. This time there is no charging light when plugged in. I’ve tried several chargers and cables and have held the power button for minutes both plugged in and unplugged. There is no power light, USB stick light doesn’t flicker either.

    What can I do now?

So basically I can throw it in the trash. What a waste of money.

Or try to directly charge the battery and flash the BIOS if that doesn’t help.
Just read the thread and the instructions (pdf) of Bill Christiansen.

Another option is contact the seller and try to return it for repair.

But in the end it’s call in the game with buying cheap a-lot-of-bang-for-their-bucks tablets (or any other gadgets) directly from China: you don’t get the instant 2 years guarantee with easy return policy.

The big price difference isn’t without any consequences.
