Hi,
My X98 pro arrived unable to boot to Windows 10, Android 5.1 however works perfectly fine. When I boot to Windows I get an error message in Chinese, which I have finally been able to partially decipher – it says windows installation was not complete, however, the rest of the text is unclear. I can enclose a screenshot if it helps.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t get any answer from Teclast’s support – they simply do not respond. As for Gearbest, where I purchased my device, they’re not providing any acceptable option, nor have they offered any technical help.
I would deeply appreciate any help on this, I’m a technical person so I can probably follow any instructions to fix this.
Thank you,
GillianJanuary 17, 2016 at 9:44 pm #22783Is there any way to fix this?
thanks

You can install a new copy of Windows, the license is in the BIOS. One friend of mine received a X98 Plus with a Windows that seemed a demo or incomplete version. It gave errors saying that trial period had expired when opening anything.
Use Microsoft Media Creation Tool to create an installation pen-drive.January 18, 2016 at 1:56 am #22796Thanks, except I have no idea how to reach the Bios, I got an instruction booklet in chinese.
January 18, 2016 at 11:12 am #22815Hi, at first you should connect a USB keyboard via otg Adapter and then push F7 button while boot process to get access to BIOS.
January 20, 2016 at 6:59 pm #23162I went into the bios like you suggested, however couldn’t find anything relevant there under “setup”.
I would extremely appreciate it if you could guide me or perhaps attach a ling with a set of English instructions.
Thanks,
Gillian

January 23, 2016 at 2:25 am #23411Thanks for the effort but this doesn’t apply for me.
First, my model is K9C6 (not 3) and second, as I have mentioned, I do not have a working Windows 10 OS in any language.
I find it odd that no one knows how to fix this. Could it be that the whole double OS is just a scam by Teclast while it is really imposible to run both OS on the Tablet? I’m beginnig to suspect so…
Does Teclast have any support division? I tried contacting their after sales division several times via E-mail but recieved no reply.
January 23, 2016 at 6:54 pm #23471Are you dumb ?
Everything you need is in the thread linked !
Also, learn to use Google !
January 24, 2016 at 7:59 pm #23542Actually, I’m a computer expert with 30 years experience, however – you can’t seem to be able to read and understand plain English.
So, once again, for slow people like yourself:
A. my model is different, it is NOT K9C3 (not as in NO) it is a K9C6.
B. The link says you MUST boot to Windows 10 first. I Don’t have windows 10 – it doesn’t load, I can only run Android 5.1 or go into the bios.
Now, let’s see which one of us is dumb and who’s dumber (answer: you are, both)
Anyways, I’m done with this ridiculous forum, it is very clear this is no professional forum, more like kids playing with their folks apparatuses, messing them all up… can’t figure why I expected anything else actually.
January 24, 2016 at 11:55 pm #23560Probably they mishandled something while they flashed english version of windows.
I can assure the tablet fully works and dual boots.
Whatever way you want to handle it you need a working PC with windows (7 or up on it).
Tablet needs to be put in “fastboot mode” (like android phones and tablets, but since it’s intel and not arm based it’s “dnx” mode) to reupload system image.
Try to follow these instructions:HOW TO: dualboot Android/Windows on K9C3
Since you have K9C6 and not the old K9C3 you just need to follow from point 4 onwards.
Otherwise you could try to get hold of an updated windows version, create a usb drive, boot to bios (press f7 when black screen with teclast logo appears) with keyboard and usb key attached to powered micro usb hub and install fresh pointing to old windows partition, and format it (second last partition of the internal disk) otherwise, you risk to hose android partitions.
If you are going for a fresh install just remember to download all the drivers in advance (use doubledriver to install) you can find them in download section of the techtablets site.
All the best
