Chuwi Lapbook Air Now Up For Pre-Order (Updated)

Update: 12th October. Looks like there might be a dark grey version also? Looks great in dark grey.

Update: 10 October. The Chuwi Lapbook Air is now up for preorder, $336 for a limited time with coupon chuwinew02 over at Gearbest. Slightly better than the first price of $379. I’m aiming to review this one, looks great with the backlit keyboard and 8GB of RAM. I hope Chuwi gave use unlocked power limit settings in the bios.

Chuwi has opened up a new page for the Lapbook Air, this promo page shows that if you subscribe to the site you’ll get a $50 off coupon reducing the price to $379. So without the coupon, at $429 it’s rather expensive for an Apollo Lake N3450 device even if it’s a premium one.

The specs are confirmed, 8GB of RAM, 128GB SSD and Windows 10. The battery is 33.7Wh, it has two USB 3.0 ports, D/C charging, mini HDMI and a large touchpad. Intel Wireless AC and a backlit keyboard.

The screen is a fully laminated 1920 x 1080 IPS with 320 cd/㎡ max brightness.  The Chuwi Lapbook Air pre-order page is here. And there is also a poll asking what specs you would like on the next device. Hopefully, we will see a Core M3 at least before the end of the year if Chuwi listens.

  1. I hope I’m wrong, but I think the dark grey version is just a darkened image meant to show off the keyboard backlighting

    • Turns out that is the case. Chuwi posted in their forums that there is no dark grey version! Sad.

    • Thank you
      Looking verrrrrrry nice

    • It looks awesome! With added SSD, should be the best Apollo Lake. Waiting for M3 and why not a Gemini Lake, this form factor should be the definitive one.

    • Looking really good. I guess enough for my office work. Waiting for Chris Review and then I will give it a try.

  4. ” 1920 x 1080 IPS ”

Why are we still getting 1920 x 1080 anything? I really really realllly don’t understand.

    • Most 15″ laptops in the shops have 720 screens, so I think you are perhaps expecting too much for the money..
It should be less than $300..

    • 1080p is better matched to this CPU/iGPU too. You want an Intel Celeron N3450 driving a 4k display? I certainly wouldn’t. If it was a 7th or 8th gen i5/i7 sure.

      • It struggles somewhat with the 3K display on the Hi13.

PS: The Title header of this post has Core M3-7Y30 as the chipset.

      • I’m not asking for a 4k resolution, but for a 3:2 aspect ratio

  5. Still no type C usb, shame..

  6. Looking forward to your review. Did you already order yours?

  7. Too expensive but should be available in some time around the 300 dollar mark.
I’m also hoping for a Core M in the future but that battery capacity is not great either.

  8. Pricey(

  9. That’s pricey…would have hoped it would have been around the $300 mark

  10. Great! 🙂
