Jumper EZBook 3 Pro V5 & V6 Unlocked Bios With Power Limits

Jumper EZBook 3 Pro V5 & V6 Unlocked Bios With Power Limits

Thanks to the hard work of Giovanni and others with now have an unlocked bios for certain models of the EZBook 3 Pro. Since V5 or V4.5 Jumper made the move to lock out the advanced setting tab on the laptop to us. This meant we were locked out of permanently changing the TDP or power limit to something higher in order to increase performance. A trade-off of doing such a tweak is more power is consumed lowering battery life, but also generating more heat. So it’s recommended you do my heatsink mod in this getting the most out of the EZbook 3 Pro article & video guide.

Warning this isn’t for the average joe, don’t flash any bios if you aren’t 100% sure of what you’re doing. A flash is a bricked EZbook 3 Pro.

Info and the unlocked bios can be found in Giovanni’s EZBook 3 Pro how to unlock the bios forum thread. (Below is the sites mirror)

Hat’s off to Giovanni for the amazing work and time spent on this. If you want a similar laptop with an unlocked bios and changeable power limits I recommend this newcomer now, the Teclast F7.

  1. I was able to flash my bios successfully to a unlocked version, however when I disabled cpu management, it is not reflected in the OS/ HWinfo still shows 6W instead of 9W. What am I doing wrong?

  2. hi, got my ezbook 3 pro this week. it is with the locked bios. any way to change the emmc speed without flashing the bios? thanks!

  3. Chris G, I think you should tell people how the current Jumper EZbook 3 Pro doesn’t work the way earlier versions do.

  4. Chris G, I think you performed diligent and honest reviews of the JUMPER EZbook 3 Pro. It is based on those reviews that I and more of you audience bought this device, and more importantly continue to buy them. The current versions are defective, aren’t they? I will leave that analysis to you to make. If they are, shouldn’t you make a video explaining to your audience why they perhaps shouldn’t buy one? BIOS problems? Unable to install any SSDs?

  5. Hi,

I don’t know it was a miracle :)) or simple just work. I want to share my experience maybe it help.

Device: Pro 3 v6 (locked bios). I tried to flash modify bios v6 from this forum (https://techtablets.com/forum/topic/ezbook-3-pro-how-to-unlock-the-bios-2/) with AFUWINGUI v5.09.04 downloaded from ami.com. After flash, I was able to see the new modify picture(Jumper logo) and that was all, restart, the device was bricked (black screen). I try all the solution: hard reset, batery removal, blind bios, hdmi cable but nothing.

First time when the notebook started it was :”what the fuck I do”….just pressing the power button 5sec…10 sec…unplug the cable…plug it again…so on…. but I wasn’t sure what was the solution. Just work. So if the device work …what can I do now? ….bricked again :)) (flash again the bios …black screen)

Second time I repeat all the steps but nothing happen. Then the notebook start again. The power cable was disconected but I press accidentally the touchpad and the blue led was on.

Maybe someone want to try, maybe I was lucky and just pressing the touchpad isn’t the solution. I don’t try to brick this device third time :)). Good luck and sorry for my english.

  6. Hello! Just a remark. Avast antivirus alerts to a WIN32:Malware:gen in the file ifrexctract_v.0.3.2.exe. I don’t know if it is a false positive. Thanks.

  7. Thanks Chris for the post!
Fun fact: I haven’t received my EZbook yet :’)

    • You haven’t got one yet?!

      • Yeah, shipped 23/01 from Gearbest with fast shipping but it isn’t arrived yet (Italy)

        • Things take about 2-3 weeks for me from China to Spain. It should be showing up any moment now, I would expect.
