GPD Pocket 7 Now Up For Preorder

This one started out as another crowd fundraiser on Indiegogo. But soon it’s going to be released, the 7″ fits-in-your-pocket Windows 10 PC, smallest in the world. It’s got a 1920 x 1200 touch IPS display covered with Gorilla Glass 3, Atom Cherry Trail X7 Z8750 and 8GB of ram. 7000 mah battery good for a claimed 12 hours of use (Find that hard to believe).

Wireless AC, 128GB of eMMC storage, BT 4.1, mini HDMI out, full sized USB and USB 3.0 type-c port. Like the GPD Win it’s got a little fan in there keeping that Z8750 cool. The WIN was a gaming handheld running Windows with the same CPU, but this time around the focus is computing on the go, tiny 7″ laptop computing in your pocket.

The build is made out of a magnesium, slim and light weight. And due to size constraints, it has no touchpad, instead, it utilises a pointing stick similar to the IBM Thinkpad’s back in the day. It’s up for pre-order at Geekbuying for $499, they will be the first store to get it in stock on the 20th. Other online stores will not have it until July sometime.

So do you imagine computing on such a tiny laptop? I can’t imagine it would be fun typing for extended periods, but at least you can plug it into a 1080p monitor and keyboard using it as a little portable desktop.
