Hands-On With The BMAX X14 – A 14″ EZbook X3 Pro

The BMAX X14 is here and just as expected it’s really a slightly bigger Jumper EZBook X3 Pro that I reviewed. They are clearly from the same ODM with some very minor differences, firstly the rear Transformers style BMAX logo is there on the lid with backlit eyes. (Can’t say I’m a huge fan of this I prefer no logo!) The power button is square and not round like the EZbook X3 Pro a...[Read More]

Teclast F7 Plus Hands-On Finally 8GB In A Good Build

The Teclast F7 Plus as we all suspected is indeed from the same ODM that has the Chuwi Lapbook SE’s design and this right here the slightly larger 14″ Teclast F7 Plus. I’ve got high expectations with this one, considering the Teclast F7 turned out to be last gen’s Apollo Lake best budget laptop. The build is almost identical to the Lapbook SE, some keyboard, just a fraction...[Read More]

Chuwi Lapbook Pro – Full Details Emerge But 4GB of RAM Again?

Now I’m not sure if this is the final spec of the Chuwi Lapbook Pro, a laptop that should have been released some time ago already. It’s very similar to the Chuwi Lapbook SE, the same specs with the same weakness, only 4GB of RAM. I was hoping there was an 8GB RAM release coming of this one. Maybe that’s not happening now as this official placeholder with all of the press info co...[Read More]

ONE-NETBOOK One Mix 2S M3-8100Y Powerful 7″ Mini PC

This one got my attention, it looks a lot like GPD Win2 I reviewed, however, it’s got so much more going for it this Netbook One Mix 2S. It’s one of the first Chinese laptops to get the new Intel Core M3-8100Y the successor to the Core M3-7Y30, it’s an 8th Gen chip with a max turbo of 3.4Ghz when thermals allow it to turbo that high. It has 8GB of RAM, 256GB PCIe SSD, 1920 x 1200...[Read More]

Windows 10 Pro 1803 Lite No Bloat For Gemini/Apollo Lake Laptops

If you’re like me and you want the maximum performance out of your Gemini Lake Laptop. Then you might like this image I created for the Chuwi Lapbook SE this will also work on the EZbook X4. It uses only 900Mb of RAM on first boot and has just 13 background processes running. It’s stripped of all Windows 10 bloatware, Metro app and even Windows defender (Install your own Anti-virus) It...[Read More]

Teclast F5’s Already Arriving To Some Lucky Customers

Mike Warner has posted a few images of his new shiny Teclast F5 on his twitter account that he was lucky enough to get already. From the photos posted and what Mike has confirmed, the fully laminated display is rather decent for 1080p, the bottom bezel as expected is rather large and the build quality overall is good. He also checked the SSD and confirmed it’s only the 2242 SATA3 M.2 size, n...[Read More]

Acer Shadow Knight 3 Ryzen Edition with AMD Ryzen 5 2500U Launched at $800

AMD’s latest CPUs have been a huge success, gaining market share in the desktop world day by day, but it doesn’t necessarily have to end there. Albeit the company hasn’t put too much focus on gaming hardware for mobile platforms, the chip maker still has some good products in its portfolio, such as the AMD Ryzen 5 2500U. This CPU particularly is what has been chosen by Acer to po...[Read More]

Honor MagicBook Ryzen 5 2500U Version $699 14″ Laptop

Thanks to those that pointed this one out to me, the Huawei Honor MagicBook has been out for some time with the Intel 8th Gen Core chips. But there is also this cheaper $699 version that has the Ryzen 5 2500U octa-core chipset in it with Vega 8 integrated GPU. It has 8GB of DDR4 2400Mhz RAM, 256GB SSD, wireless AC 2×2 like the base M iNotebook Pro I have, but this is around $200 cheaper and i...[Read More]

Deals: New Teclast F7 128GB SSD Model For $279 (Updated)

Update #2: The Tecalst F7 128GB SSD model is now $279 USD, the price has dropped $20 and is limited to 200 units. Right now it’s still the best budget laptop, the new EZBook X4 might have the faster, newer Celeron N4100 CPU, but it has 2GB less RAM and a TN panel. Update: For those that missed out. Another 200 units were added today, so it’s back at $299 from $369! I spotted the Tecals...[Read More]

Jumper EZBook X4 Launch $299 Special

There is a new lower and more tempting $299 price for the EZbook X4, an Intel Celeron N4100 powered Windows 14″-inch budget laptop. The Gemini Lake it runs is the Apollo Lake N3450 successor, 4 cores, 2.4Ghz max, 4Mb cache, DDR4 support and other minor tweaks. While the Jumper EZBook X4 has the new gen CPU and the RAM is 4GB DDR4 2400Mhz it has 2GB less RAM than the Teclast F7 the current bu...[Read More]

Teclast F5 – 360 Degree Hinge Gemini Lake Laptop

This one leaked out, the Teclast F5 is coming. But nothing on the Teclast Weibo of this new Gemini Lake N4100 model. It has an 11.6″ yoga style 360-degree hinge screen. Touchscreen, my guess is 1080p (hopefully fully laminated). 8GB of RAM this is great it will be the first 8GB DDR4 Gemini lake laptop from the Chinese brands. Up to now, everyone is using 4GB due to DDR4 prices. No other info...[Read More]

New Gemini Lake Tech Coming – Tablets, Laptops & Mini PC’s

Alldocube has updated their Knote, now called the KNote 5 it ships with the Gemini Lake Celeron N4100. The sad thing is they haven’t done anything else to it. I checked out this model back last year with the N3450 and it only has a Type-C port, no USB type-A. While you get the faster chipset that is really it, RAM has also dropped to 4GB, but it’s DDR4 2400Mhz vs the last gen’s D...[Read More]
