Since my Xiaomi reviews always tend to get a lot of interested and the Mi Scooter review has had a much better response than expected. I’ve pulled the trigger on the Mi Drone. I’ve been looking at it for some time, put off by the 1080p only version and heard that this one is the best of the two drones from Xiaomi which does 1440p 60fps and 4k 30fps.
I’ve been eyeing up the DJI Spark since hearing about it but ultimately put off by the fact it’s just 1080p only (I love 4k) and for less, I can get the 4k version of the Xiaomi one. The DJI spark is 599 euros here, but of course, has a lot of features, more sensors, collision avoidance is one of the more important features I was after. Something the Xiaomi Drone doesn’t have sadly, so I’ll have to be very careful where I fly it. Not take it into areas around trees etc. And as you no doubt know I prefer to review the cheaper Chinese brands & alternatives. DJI drone stuff also has thousands of reviews and videos so my review would just get lost in the sea of videos.
At least it does have auto hover!
I’m really new to drones, but something I want to get into for a while and would love some aerial shots of the area’s around where I live. The price of the Mi Drone 4k version is around $550 to $670 online and after a lot of hunting around I found this coupon MI4K with Gearbest that lowers the price to $469 with shipping. I think the price is fair considering it’s the 4k version and I’m not about to fork out a huge amount to get the DJI Phantom 4 which is over twice the price as I’m just getting into drones. And I’ll be using beginner mode and settings.
The gimbal and camera which can shot up to 4k 30fps.
It’s only just been ordered so look for the review or unboxing and test flight video in a few weeks.
