It seems everyone is now switching to releasing MediaTek power tablets due to Intel’s apparent shortage of the cheaper low end 14nm chipsets like the Gemini lakes. The AllDoCube M8 is an 8-inch tablet with a 1920 x 1200 fully laminated IPS panel. It’s a dual SIM 4G tablet power by the faster Helio X27 max turbo 2.6Ghz & GPU clocked at 875Mhz. It has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. So pretty much a low-end tablet in the budget sub $200 USD range.
The battery is 5500mAh which okay if you factor in the 8″ size. The Helio X27’s aren’t the fastest, but not as bad as you would think with 10 cores on the battery. It runs stock Android 8.0 and has the usual Wireless AC, BT 4.2, FM Radio and microUSB. Sadly no type-c and no HDMI output that they seem to drop nowadays.
The AllDoCube M8 weighs 345 grams and the 4G modem supports EU bands so band 20 is covered with GPS. No word on pricing or when it’s available. But expect it to sell for around $170-$180 since it has the 4G modem enabled.
Maybe in AllDoCube’s hands, they can get that Helio X27 to run a bit smoother and more optimized as this same spec on the Chuwi HiPad didn’t exactly run smooth.
