After messing about for the past 2 days ive managed to get my w3f as i wanted.
windows 10
dual boot
fully english
larger android partition
————————————-
heres what i did, ill skip the bits that didnt work lol. this is from memory but is exactly the process i used
downloaded the bios flash files and android files from the pipo site – these were the files in the win10 folder and i downloaded only the 1.07gb android file
downloaded the full flash files from here – 4 parts
from this i extracted the win 8 folder
put these 3 folders into a seperate folder so this shuld contain;
1- bios folder- from pipo w10 folder
2-android folder – from pipo w10 folder
3-win8 folder – from techtablets 4 part dowload
——–
put the contents of the bios flash onto a usb – formatted as fat32
booted into windows and ran the bios installation file from flash drive – flashed bios
wiped flash drive and put contents of android folder in it
restarted, went int bios and boot from efi shell
that then installed android 4.4
boot to android
inside the android folder there is an update package, move this to the root of the internal sd card
in android settings, got about tablet and update from sd card, run the one that sounds like a guys name – not sure what this updated tbh
formatted usb as ntfs and put the contents of the win8 folder in it
powered off and back on holding volume up
installed windows 8.1
booted to windows 8.1, connected to the internet and left 10 minutes
downloaded the w10 media creation tool
ran creation tool to create a w10 usb installation on the usb drive used before – its ok to wipe it
opened usb drive and ran the win10 setup
once completed booted into win 10
w10 install will delete the 5gb recovery partition and absorb it into the w10 c; so you end up with a w10 drive of 21gb
i wanted to relocate some of this to increase the 4.5gb android, heres how i managed it 2nd time
downloaded aomei partition asistant
resized the win 10 partition to 17gb and moved it to the right hand side so you should have unallocated space at the left of the c drive,it should show at the right hand side 4.5gb raw partition – 100mb partition – 128mb partition – 4gb unallocated – 17gb windows – 450mb recovery
apply this and let it move w10 to the end
reboot and open aomei again, now you need to do the same with the 2x 100mb ish partitions and move these next to the windows partition, you can move these 2 in one operation – do not try combining this move with the win10 resize. it NEEDS a reboot inbetween.
apply this – it shouldnt require a reboot
what we have done is effectively cut off 4gb from the fromt of the win10 and moved it along so its now next to the 4.5gb raw partition, your structure should look ike this at the right hand side
4.5gb raw partition – 4gb unallocated – 100mb partition – 128mb partition – 17gb windows – 450mb recovery
now to combine them
use windows disk management select the 4.5gb partition and resize it into the 4gb – this should allow you to have 8.5gb – 100mb – 128mb – 17gb – 450mb
reboot into android
it will still show it being 4.5gb – you need to do a factory reset, when it comes back on it should then be a 8.5gb drive
when i had finnished i ended up with 8.02gb availiable on android and after doing a complete disk cleanup in windows about 10gb free there
THIS IS HOW I MANAGED IT, ALONE THE WAY I HAD A DEAD TOUCHSCREEN IN ANRDROID DUE TO A WRONG BIOS, CHINESE IN CERTAIN WINDOWS PARTS, SCREEN NOT WAKING UP IN WINDOWS, A DISK THAT BELIEVED IT WAS ENCRYPTED IN ANDROID DUE TO A WRONG MERGE.
you could say ive tried a few things to get it like this so please enjoy the fruits of my trial and error.
its now all in english on 4.4, the sd card problem still exists when rebooting from android and the shift key still dosent work but it should now allow you guys to have a usb dual boot and updated system
all that im missing now is root if anyone can help
