Teclast have released the Windows 10 image download files. It’s very easy to restore the Windows 10 image it seems, download the arcives extract them to a Fat32 formatted USB stick named WINPE. using a usb hub, enter the bios with the esc key and boot to the WINPE stick. The reset is automatic. I assume this release is Chinese only for now. I will test it out on my X98 Pro tomorrow if I have time.

I see it has the folders en-gb and en-us for English US and UK. I wonder if its just for the installer? Or includes these languages? My guess is Chinese only, until the international version is out on the 20th.

I found that it’s possible to change the language on Windows Single Language version. Here is an interesting tutorial about that: http://sergeit.blogspot.de/2013/11/windows-8-single-language-mui.html?m=1

    Hi Chris

There is a post (http://bbs.teclast.com/thread-510533-1-1.html) with all the drivers.

Can you try to install this drivers instead of your dump on your chinese version tablet* after you fresh installation is done?

    Hallo Chris,
I need help, because I found nothing about my problem.
I got my teclast x98 3g 32gb and did as follows:
    1. Win 8 > set language to german
    2. Win 8> several updates
    3. Win 8> offer to upgrade to win 10
    4. Win 8>upgrade to win 10
    5. Android> flashed to Lollipop : great
Now: Win 10 gets no longer connection to Win AppStore. Have a microsoft account, can login there, can get, Skype; but no login in store possible! Everytime I choose Microsoft account, there came a black window for a moment, nothing else.
So I decided, to reset my win 1o without any personal settings.
That was a mistake: Now I have a boot loop: I always come back to the page, where I can choose the language. When I change it, after some rebootings comes very shortly a window, so short, that I can not recognize it. Than comes a window with defaultuser0, new reboot. Now I can choose the language again, an so on.
I tried to install Win 10 again with the original Iso and a Rufus-Stick, because i could not download from baidu. No installation method is possible, no repair mode goes.
    Has anybody an idea?
    Must/ can I format the C: – drive?
What can I do in the CMD?
    Please Help!

Hello! I followed the instructions above to reinstall Win 10 on my Teclast X98 Plus (dual boot), all worked as desribed and installation was sucessful. The only thing I’d like to mention is that on step 4 you must choose and click (or tap) ‘UEFI: [name of your USB stick]’ and installation begins straight away.

    Hello Chris,

I’ve bought this tablet and the former owner has made the mistake “reset this computer” (he thought that he could wipe the settings of his account…); so now it boots into windows but stops suddenly with the message that the windows installation suddenly stopped. And that you have to reboot. But then you get the same message again….

Android works good. And there still is a dual boot menu.

How can i get windows working again?

I’ve got the windows 10 images unpacked to a bootable usb flash drive. When i choose this usb drive as first boot, nothing changes; it still stops in the same way. However the first time it booted from the usb drive, it said; “preparing” and then a blue windows screen appaeared which looked like some recovery mode. Then i choose the usb drive and then it got stuck again with the same message….

‘The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click “OK” to restart the computer, and then restart the installation. ”

And everytime i get to this message again….

So, what to do? Do you have a solution?

    Chris from NL

I tried it with boot override; then i’m getting a blue screen: “this PC ran into a problem, but you can reset” …….
