I got lucky then? Mines still fine. But it didn’t get the first batch which I heard had issues, can you explain the fault? Is it the same power issues like my Hi8 Pro has?

Ordered and waiting for my: BMAX S15 & Teclast F6 Plus
Currently testing: LG G8X & Redmi K30March 4, 2016 at 11:40 pm #28047We wrote a lot about the issue:

I also contacted directly Chuwi support. They were very kind to answer me…that there is nothing to do. They are afraid, they don’t understand where is the problem and they suggest to contact the vendor…there is not warranty with these products! I have a died tablet that worked for about 2 weeks.
March 5, 2016 at 5:03 pm #28108My hi10 also works perfectly after 3 months of daily use. I am very pleased.
March 7, 2016 at 8:52 am #28263Everyday I honestly worry that my hi10 will die but so far its been working fine for > 1 month now.
March 7, 2016 at 12:26 pm #28291I think it all depends on if you got the first batch or not. It’s like my Hi8 Pro, it’s very problematic and fails to boot at times. But the second batch is fine, like my Hi10 which is the second batch the blue USB 3.0 port and 64bit Windows.

Now, in March, my tablet is dead. I’ve charged it and tried booting so many different ways. It’s totally dead. Such a disappointment.

Chris,
my Chuwi was 32 bit (updated to 64 bit and worked for 1 month) and it has black usb ports. I was sure the problem was the old version of the tablet, but jorge has demonstrated the contrary. My tablet sometimes starts, approximately one time per week, with usb ports that are not detected by Windows. I suppose that the tablet doesn’t start because it goes in a kind of protection for hardware failure and after a certain time the bios release the protection. I don’t know if it is possible.
Before reading Jorge comments I thought the problem was between USB 2.0 and Bios. I tried all 64 bit Bios available around this forum without solution.
For this reason I suggest to avoid to buy Chuwi till the problem has not been found and solved by Chuwi. The tablet can works for few months, but I think the tablet should work for years!
March 11, 2016 at 10:20 am #28805Hello guys,
I can confirm that there is no way. After two months no solution was found. Nobody will help, no refund, no replacement. There is not warranty with chinese products, so what they suggest (Aliexpress vendor…VC Lemon for me) is to send back the tablet (60€ from Italy so problably at the real tablet value) to try to repair it. But, as admin wrote, technician is working on the issue…so there is not solution till now and I suppose they will never find the solution.
Who bought a Chuwi HI10 sooner or later you will have a fantastic cutting board at only 170€!!!
DON’T BUY CHUWI IF YOU CARE ABOUT MONEY!March 12, 2016 at 7:15 pm #29085I feel your pain. I’ve had mine for 4 days now and so far it still works. – BUT.. I have to ask – did you not know these Chinese companies Do Not warranty any products themselves? They operate backwards from normal retailers in the USA and elsewhere – Instead of the manufacturing company handling the repairs/returns they leave that up to the Re-seller company you bought the product through. I found out the hard way. You have to read the resellers warranty policy to get your unit fixed, not Chuwi.
I bought from Geekbuying and even though they took over a month to process and ship my tablet ( they still haven’t sent the docking keyboard i bought at the same time) – they did offer a full 1 year warranty on all non user caused defects. You pay to ship it to the California warehouse and from there they will repair or replace then ship it back to you on their dime. I chose this because if say i were to have bought the unit from Amazon, I would have no recourse for any repair or return.
It’s like you buy a Microsoft tablet from Amazon and instead of Microsoft handling the warranty, Amazon would handle it. Yes this is Strange, backward and No way to do business – I suspect within a few years once enough Americans and Europeans get fed up with this BS you will see these Chinese re-sellers going under.
Heck.. I hope and pray Japan starts making cheap tablets to compete with this new Chinese market because as we know from Sony, Panasonic, Cannon and the like that Japanese products are just as good as Made in the USA with just as good customer/product support. I’m heading up a national referendum to get all Japanese companies to make tablet that will compete in this market – That will kill China tablets for good hopefully until China grows up and learns to do business like the adults of the world.
March 28, 2016 at 7:40 pm #31140I bought the CHUWI Hi10 from Aliexpress store VC MALL (VC Lemon). i regret to this day.
No warranty.they wanted it returned to uknown adress, i even asked for a new motherboard and had to pay, one month ago. they cant ship parts for this tablet. almost 100 messages between me and the store trying to find solutions.
i payed 120USD for a new motherboard and it has not been sent after one month, only excuses and lies from this store….i am really….really angry.
That was my story….i have over 500 orders on Aliexpress in different stores. I will NEVER buy anything from store VC MALL again.
March 28, 2016 at 8:02 pm #31153Same for me, dead after 1 month.. no news from chuwi, still waiting news from Gearbest… 🙁
April 1, 2016 at 8:58 pm #31619Finally we lost a lot of money (I bought also accessories).
What they suggest (VC Mall) is to lose other money sending back to them the tablet, they repair it (in how many time???) and then they send it back. The costs to send the tablet back to China from Italy is approx. 35% of the tablet price and 80% of real tablet value.
This is China…these are chinese products and I was stupid to buy from them!!!
April 2, 2016 at 5:49 am #31660Well, they don’t have an overseas presence. Even for semi-global chinese companies like Xiaomi, they will not honour warranties if product not bought in that country. Its been complained about in my country but it is what it is.
This is why I don’t mind some reseller’s policy of opening the boxes and making sure it works before its sent out. I’d rather have an opened box than getting a surprise lemon.
For me, I take the risk because when/if it works, its really value for money.
April 12, 2016 at 3:03 pm #33181After 20 days I did not touch the Chuwi why it was not working, last Saturday I tried to turn it on and surprisingly it works perfectly (disconnected from the power supply). When I powered on the device, the battery had a residual charge <10%.
Now it is working very well since three days without any problem.
That’s incredible, I have never seen something similar. I’ll keep you up-to-date.
April 16, 2016 at 8:26 am #33729Good news guys, I think I’ve actually found a way to revive the ‘bricked’ tablet. I’m not a technical expert but I believe it should solve the problem. I’ll try to keep the guide simple and concise.
The problem : Tablet won’t boot, screen does not show any signs of life (led keeps blinking like its charging or no led light at all). Only proof its alive is that there’s power through the usb ports. For this I recommend a usb fan/led to test this out.
There are a few general procedures you should take note off :
(1) Turning on the tablet – hold the pwr button for 4-5 seconds and release. NOTE: once release, wait out for any signs of life. The usb fan should start at the initial 3-4 seconds of holding the pwr button.
(2)Turning off the tablet – hold the pwr button for 10-11 seconds and release. NOTE: once release, wait out for another 10 seconds just make sure the tablet has settled with its power circuitry. Warning, holding on to the pwr button for 20-30 seconds will cause the orange led to stop lighting up.
To test the battery level, connect the usb fan and try to turn on the tablet.
Battery indicators : (Full-mid battery) fan runs as per normal. (Low/critical low battery) fans spins but dies out soon after.
Here are the steps to reviving the tablet.
1)First is to drain the battery. To fully drain the battery, disconnect the fan and turn on the tablet (follow procedures correctly).
2)Plug in the fan to check the battery level.
3)If battery is full/mid, plug out the fan and leave the tablet alone for a few hours (after a few mins, tablet should be warm on the back). Leave it in this powered on state until the tablet is cooled or the fan won’t spin after plugging it in.
4)Once you have a low battery, charge the tablet using a pc/laptop usb. Leave it to charge for at least 30 mins.
5)Now for the moment of truth, plug out the usb cable and any other usb devices (e.g. fan, keyboard). Turn on the tablet using the correct procedure and wait out patiently for the chuwi logo to show up. If it shows up, congrats! you’re almost done.
6)Let it boot up till it shows the desktop. Set the brightness to 0% and enable power saver as battery might die at any moment. Charge the tablet using the original charger and play around with the revived tablet for awhile. If the tablet screens turns off press the windows button to turn the screen on. Becareful as the tablet is still in a fragile state. Let it charge to 5-6% battery life.
7)Shut down the tablet normally and wait for at least 10 seconds. Charge the tablet using the orginal charger for at least 1-2 hours before turning it on again. If it turns on and turning on/off is stable, congratulations! Your tablet is revived 😀
I hope this guide works for the majority of people facing such a problem and thank you for reading such a lengthy post. Good luck! 🙂
