Teclast Spain has posted their X3 Pro (Core M3) and the Tbook 16 Atom X5 Z8300 tablets have been discontinued. The reason is to make way for a new Teclast X3 Plus version, which will feature the new 2016 Apollo Lake Intel Celeron N3450 (Renamed 14 nm Cherry Trail Atom successor, see more on the Apollo Lake), 4GB of RAM and 128GB of Storage. And two new Tbook models that share the Tbook 16S design, the Tbook 16 Power with the refreshed Atom X7 Z8750 Cherry Trail, 8GB of DDR3 Ram and 64GB eMMC. It’s dual boot Windows 10 and Android (fingers crossed for Android 6.0?) and the Tbook 16 Pro now gets a Z8350, it’s still dual boot. Let’s hope the power has wireless AC. No word on the release date yet and nothing on Teclast’s Weibo.
There is also talk of a 12.2″ version with a Core i5/8GB/256GB SSD! Source (Spanish)
So now we are going to see the Apollo lake hopefully by the end of the year and finally an Atom X7 Z8750 model. Since it’s something new I’ll do my best to review them, interested to see how the new Intel Celeron Apollo Lake SoC will perform compared to the X7 8750. And if the X7 Z8750 and Z8350 will have any thermal throttling?
Now its a bit of a slow period, but towards the end of the year and early next year the first batch of new models will come. 2016 has seen OGS screens and Wireless AC, wonder what 2017 has in store for us? UFS 2.0 storage and Apollo Lake?
