The Vbook line from Voyo gets an upgrade to the new Apollo lake Pentium N4200 in the Vbook V3. This is a 13.3″ “Yoga” style notebook with a 360-degree hinge. I’ve looked at this design before and it’s very similar to the Lenovo Yoga 2 style of notebook. You can use it like a thick heavy tablet with the keyboard flipped back in presentation mode, or tent mode.
The 13.3″ version looks the most interesting to me. According to the press images, it comes with a 128GB or 256GB SSD and a empty slot so you can add another 2242 M.2 SSD upto 512GB.
The 11.6″ version called the Voyo Vbook A1 gets the less powerful Celeron N3450 Apollo Lake chip. Both of these have an unusual drive set up. 32GB eMMC for Windows 10 Home install and a M.2 SSD. I would have rather had the OS on the faster SSD drive. Not sure why they have done this.
At least both have Wireless AC, USB 3.0 ports, 4GB of DDR3 RAM and large 12,000mAh batteries. And both have 1920 x 1080 IPS panels with stylus support.
Prices:
$361 for the 13.3″ version & $324 for the 11.6″ version over at GearBest.
I’ve ordered the 13.3″ version to review, mainly because I think the extra for the N4200 and spare SSD slot should be worth it. Thermals should be interesting, hopefully the Apollo Lake runs cooler than the last gen Atom’s do.
