Chuwi Hi9 Pro Android 8.1, 8.4″ 2560 X 1600 4G Tablet

Another new tablet from Chuwi, the Hi9 Pro. Not to be confused with the Hi9 Air and Hi9 I reviewed. This one is yet another Helio X20 tablet. 8.4″ 2560 x 1600 OGS JDI IPS screen I’ve used this screen before and it’s a good one. 4G with dual SIM support + MicroSD. The LTE bands 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20 & 40 so that covers many counties and I’ll have no issues with 4G in Spain. There is Wireless AC,  BT 4.1 and  GPS. But no HDMI out.

If you don’t know about the MediaTek Helio X20 (MTK6797) well it’s a 10 core CPU (Max speed 2.3Ghz) paired up with a Mali-T880 GPU at 780Mhz and this Hi9 Pro has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of eMMC 4.5.1 storage. The battery is 5000mah in size good for about 4 hours of gaming or 6 hours of video. This is wrapped in a full metal build with 5MP front camera and 8MP rear camera. The OS version is Android 8.1, good to see them step away from Android 7.0.

It’s going to be selling for around $160 USD. So for the price, I think it will be an okay tablet with a very good screen, LTE, and GPS. Just don’t expect it to be as fast as the MTK8176 six core tablets and the Xiaomi Mi Pad 4. And I would have liked to have seen at least a 6000mAh battery.
