Chuwi’s Aerobook Core M3 Laptop Updated With Type-C USB 3.1

After reaching their stretch goal on Indiegogo, Chuwi’s crowd-funded Aerobook a13.3″ laptop has been updated to now included a full spec type-C port. So this means, power, data and video output. A move which I’m sure most will be happy with, I hope there will now be a new stretch goal to include at least the Core M3-7Y30 or better yet the Core M3-8100Y? (Chuwi?) But the Core M3 6Y30 while now a bit dated still is single thread wise much faster than the Gemini Lake N4100.

The Aerobook gets a full spec Type-C port.

Storage options include SATA3 128GB, 256GB & 1TB SSD’s with all models shipping with 8GB LPDDR3 1866Mhz RAM and the 128GB base model starts from $399 now (Early birds got it for $379) I hope to get hold of one of these during my visit to Shenzhen so look out for some possible hands-on videos of the new laptop in China or with my Gearbest live stream. It’s very similar to the Lapbook SE, two USB 3.0 ports, mini HDMI, D/C 12v charging and an edge to edge backlit keyboard. But it has double the RAM and better performance.

The screen is a 13.3″ 1080p fully laminated IPS. The battery is a 38Wh battery and in my experience, the Core M3 never does well when it comes to battery life longevity. My guess would be 5-6 hours tops mixed doc and browsing use on Wifi. Chuwi claims up to 8 hours, but this is simple video playback which I can believe.
