The review video is now up for the Chuwi Aerobook a crowdfunded Core M3 13.3″ laptop. Overall this is a decent laptop and another step in the right direction with a slight improvement in certain areas, but stating the obvious it really needs a more recent more powerful CPU. The newest Intel Core M3-8100Y would be a perfect fit or the AMD Ryzen 5 2500U better still!

The screen is bright, good color gamut, fully laminated so glossy and very reflective. But solvable with an anti-glare screen protector. Speakers, somewhat better sounding than the Lapbook SE’s maybe software tweaks? But still not quite as loud as I would like.
The build is great, the darker grey I really like, make it look more serious more business-like and no backlit Chuwi logo on the rear! The keyboard pretty much the same as the Lapbook SE’s. Backlit good key size 15mm x 15mm and good travel. There is a little more flex in the middle than the Lapbook SE for some reason maybe it’s to do with the weight reduction. It’s only 1.27 kilos so a good 150 grams or so lighter than the Lapbook SE.
Performance wise as so many wanted to know, yes it is faster than the Gemini Lake laptops, but at the cost of 1-2 hours+ of battery life.
Linux Mint has been tested and it runs well, everything works. Wireless, sound, display controls and the touchpad.
The Aerobook was $379 recently on Indiegogo, but that has now ended and now sold via Aliexpress here.
