Can you say me the difference beetwen Teclast x98 plus II and Teclast x98 plus? I would like to buy it but i’m not sure which one to choose . Thank you.
July 1, 2016 at 10:48 pm #42435Hi, mine just shipped and I should have it in a two weeks. But the X98 Plus II now has all the ports and the top with faster dc charging (freeing up the microusb 2 port) and apparently better speakers. I’ll not know if it’s better till it arrives and I test it out.

July 5, 2016 at 12:48 am #42628Dear Chris,
I just get my Teclast X98 Plus II and evrything works fine (Android, WIndows). This is really amazing.
Just 3 questions :
- I notice that the charger (5V – 2.5A) get very hot when charging the tablet (the charge of the tablet is done within 3-4 hours) very quick. Is it normal?
- The tablet gets a little bit hot also when my kids play game after 1 hour. Is it something i have to be afraid of or just normal because of the high specifications of the tablet?
- Is it possible to keep only Android and remove Windows on this tablet?
Thank you for your feedback and keep up the great work on your website!!!
July 5, 2016 at 4:02 am #42633Hi Jump,
Can you please tell us the model number of your tablet? I’m thinking about picking one up, but I wanted to see whether the custom ROM development for the Plus would still work.
Thanks!
July 5, 2016 at 4:59 am #42640HEllo,
THe ID of the tablet is C2D4.
July 5, 2016 at 1:32 pm #42676Thanks for the quick reply. Seems like maybe it’s worth getting the regular Plus for the aftermarket support.
July 5, 2016 at 1:45 pm #42677Don’t know. I was hesitating between the Plus and the Plus II and finally i bought the Plus II.
Hope i made the right choice.
July 11, 2016 at 5:54 pm #43158The new option for charging is great as the original Plus isn’t the fastest charger in the world. However, can you still charge the Plus II through the USB as an option? That would be a nice to have in case you don’t have access to the actual charger…

I just got my x98 Plus II today and it charges off of both USB and DC. Not sure what the difference is yet. I will see if I can find the charging current in Android for both.

I am using my HP Touchpad charger, which is a 2.0A 5V charger that came with my Touchpad, and it too is very hot. I hope this isn’t dangerous.
July 12, 2016 at 5:42 am #43213Why not Windows-only model?
July 14, 2016 at 3:21 am #43433I got my x98 plus II and boot looped my Windows because I used the Reset option thinking it would get rid of the bloat.. Was wondering if anyone knows if the drivers are the same as the original x98 plus? I’m gonna attempt to reinstall windows when I find a USB hub..

July 17, 2016 at 12:28 pm #43734He,
here you can download the rom here :
http://pan.baidu.com/s/1bozw8B9
You find Windows + Android 5.1 + PDF HowTo in Chinese but with image + Software for flash
I think you need to recover so need to boot in fastboot mode
Good Luck

Find Chris reply about x98 pro :
Okay looks like we can flash it I think. I’m goingto try at the risk of bricking my X98 Pro (hope not!) Looks like we do this: Install all 3 tool apps in this order:
- iSocUSB Driver
- IntelAndroidDriver
- PhoneFlashTool
Download and extract the Android Rom.
Run the PhoneFlashTool and browse to flash.json in the extracted Android X98 Pro Rom.
Set the configuration to blank.
Enter DNX FASTBOOT mode by holding power on and vol down (works on mine)
Connect USB cable to your PC and X98 Pro Click start to flash Wait to 100% and then hope it’s not bricked! I’m trying it now!
About this line :
Set the configuration to blank. / my opinion is to set configuration to recover but maybe wait Chris reply 😉
July 18, 2016 at 5:14 pm #43821@jump – Does your x98 Plus II run at the full 1600 or still 1066 mHz, and is it a metal body?
