Voyo’s vBook v3 is a larger version of the Onda oBook 11 I reviewed. Unfortunately, it shares the same issues. The screen high pitch whine noise, USB 3 port issues and a new one. Trouble waking from sleep. While the price wasn’t bad at $232 (Was on special offer, plus some rather expensive postage) I don’t think it’s worth it unless Voyo fix these issues. Sure the build is great, the screen is bright and not at all bad for a 1080p 13.3-inch unit.
There is also a Skylake version coming for $415, which will almost triple the power and give us full SSD speeds. Will the issues be fixed in the Skylake vBook v3 Ultimate? I certainly hope so.
A bios update should be able to fix the USB and sleep issue. If I was to rate it out of ten it would get a 6.5 maybe even a 7 if it would come out of sleep when it should.
The vBook v3 drivers are here if anyone needs them. Now that that’s out of the way, I can get back to my Chuwi Hi12 testing and review.
