No new chip required for cmos clear or reset!

Open back cover,  find 8 leg chip,  it will have dark dot on it it is leg #1 and on the other side there will be green dot,  green dot is the last leg #8,  short #7 and #8 while you press power button to power up,  might take few tries,  but jumper ezbook will be back to normal!  Just in case clear cmos by pressing f9 while in bios

Do not short out pins on the flash chip, you are putting the SoC under a lot of stress. This isn’t a reset procedure you are just forcing the chip select high to stop the flash sending data and thereby trigger a CRC error. This is the modern day equivalent of shorting out the RTC backup battery, which was also a bad idea.

Use the external programmer, with a 1.8V adaptor if needed (look up the chip’s datasheet to find it it’s needed).

Also when using the external programmer disconnect the battery first and unplug external devices (including SD cards etc.).

Jerry, out of interest where are you getting this from?
5 and 6 are data in and clock, I don’t see how that could do anything helpfull.
Is the clock supposed to override DI or vice versa?!?

i am a simple user stupid enough to buy this piece of sh.t of a laptop, but this piece of sh.t is my own, and only 3 months old, i took a risk and it did paid off! we all share here something in common, buy cheap, and cheap repair it deserved

It seems that the image you posted comes from a forum post relating to a motherboard that has a backup copy of BIOS, by shorting those pins the commands going into the chip get screwed up and it looks like something detects nonsense out of the BIOS and switches to the backup. I don’t think the device being discussed here has that facility.
I think what happened in your case is that you managed to screw up the read of something the BIOS needed to continue boot and so it dropped you into setup with default settings. The timing would have been critical.

There’s nothing to stop you doing this to your own device but I think when advocating an unreliable and risky approach to a problem you should give some warnings. Some people might want a safer option if there is one and in this case there is: programming the chip with an external device (a clip is probably safer than removing the chip though).

risk was to buy this laptop, peple here took it, knowing in fact that there was not much to buy for 200$  some did it out of curiosity probably, but not to share this knowledge with others make some people hypocritical, took me a week to search for an answer, i did find it and i shared with others, to accept this knowledge it is a choice, and only your own.
