If someone tests it and works let me know. There’s plenty of things I can suggest and tell you to enable and disable in the bois menu. I be looking forward to help. If you success make a stable bois mod for flashing with zero bricking then we in business. I’ve tested on my Cube i8 Works where that tablet has full bois menu. I know what to edit and tweak without ruining and make unstable. We can just enable and tweak the stuff with zero worrying. If anyone interested I’m welcome to assist you. I’m very new to these tablets and chipsets. I’m a professional PC person and work on games. I’m interested in bring new possible things to these tablets. Many amazing things can be done for these and bring higher view.

    Sweet!

Perhaps then someone might find the setting that turns off charging on OTG 😉 If it’s a BIOS setting.

That must be pretty expensive piece of flasher to own lol. Either way this is good to have when your modding software that can brick devices.

Friends, I have opened in the BIOS setup, and all the hidden items. Who is willing to check my work? In the BIOS, I have not changed anything, all the default left. I just tried to open access to all items in the BIOS.

    Hi.

I hace an a5c8. If you tell me how can I open the BIOS I can give a try.

First we should know if there is a “safe mode” or clear BIOS HW mod in order to recover. But I can try safest options.

RAM at 1600 perhaps can lead to stability issues but probably allow tablet to boot.

    Hi everybody.

We can reflash BIOS via Raspberry PI, in case you have one. I have three, so no problem.

This is the method (it’s in spanish, use google translator). I could translate it into english if google translator does a bad work.

    Could you tell us:
1-Which is the base version of your mod? A5C6 or A5C8?
2-What was exactly what you did? How did you managed to find the conditional jump which reveals all the menus?

I have a clip flasher to recover it, but I’d rather not void my warranty without certain minimum odds of success. I have an A5C6.

    Thanks!

Here there is another guide to do it with the flasher clip I have (CH341A) and a logic level converter:

BTW, Does anybody know which Flash chip the X98plus mounts?

    Hi again.

I am only interested in activating the functionality of USB OTG+Charging.

I extracted my BIOS with the Afuwinx64 and loaded into AMIBCP64 (v 5.01.0014) and the only quick thing I found was that the option USB OTG was set to Auto and the following item USB VBUS is set to ON.

The help string for the USB VBUS says “VBUS should be ON in HOST mode. It should be OFF in OTG device mode. VBUS is forced to Auto mode for FFRD-PR1 since FSA mux will control it. So perhaps this is it the damn setting which is avoiding the charging when the USB port is working in OTG mode.

So I changed the “ON” to “Auto”, saved the modified rom… BUT as the modified rom is not signed, when I tried to flash it with AFUwin I got a Secure Flash Rom Verify Fail. I tried the parameter /GAN (suggested in some sites to override the security check) and it doesn’t work.

At this point, I could try to go with the Intel flash utilities, but playing with a locked TPM EFI could be a nightmare if something goes wrong and right now I couldn’t afford such a time consuming task.

Sorry, but I’m out until I have enough time.

With this script can’t you flash the bios?

Only replace the bios (A5C6 dual boot) by the modified

EDIT: I open my bios with AMIBCP and on Intel IGD Configuration the setting to GFX Boost is disabled.

Well either way we need a whole modded bios. Still waiting for someone to confirm that test version modded bios working on the model.
