I also need this answered. Just ordered mine to replace other tabs that were having this issue. I would constantly get “Plugged in, Not charging” on my surface.
Does this tablet also use the full 4GBs of ram?
February 11, 2016 at 11:38 am #25695Yes, considering it’s an x64 OS, the full 4gb should be used. (all the other z8300 tablets that have 4gb do use it with a 64 bits OS)
The speed of charging with the HI10, was more depending on the type of cable/charger i believe? with another charger it charged just fine?
February 11, 2016 at 1:13 pm #25702I have used different kinds of wall chargers, Samsung, HTC, Huawei, Sony. All of them have been 2.1A output with a high quality usb cable that is supposedly able to hold 4A back and forth. I might have been unlucky.
If the Hi12 is alot better to charge I will upgrade to it without doubt, it looks sexier aswell with that blue back. and less boxy back “cover”
March 7, 2016 at 4:37 am #28255Hi, can any owners of this Chuwi Hi12 confirm the charging time when the tablet is running?
I’m currently using the Teclast X98 Pro, it doesn’t charge and battery still keeps draining when it’s powered on, even if it is idle.
Planning to change to the Chuwi Hi12, only concern is on the charging.
Thanks!

March 11, 2016 at 11:53 pm #28961The tablets are low quality, and the company does not stand behind their product. After contacting chuwi.. They said contact the seller. the sellers wants me to ship it back… total lose $100 due to customs and shipping back, when tablet costs $250. Spend the extra money and get a quality product.
March 13, 2016 at 8:00 am #29136HI! When the tablet is fully charged, is the red led change of color?
Mine is always red and stay at 99%….
Thanks and have a good Day !
March 13, 2016 at 8:44 am #29137When the tablet is fully charged, red led stop flashing, and stay red!

March 13, 2016 at 1:32 pm #29163OK thanks !
I charge my tablet with à Samsung charger but 1A so it takes maybe à long time. …
March 13, 2016 at 2:03 pm #291691% in 17min !
wow that is really slow, I’ll skip it then.
March 13, 2016 at 2:29 pm #29173First charge ! About 10 hours battery life in continous use
March 13, 2016 at 2:59 pm #2917810 hours battery life is quite impressive. But I am more concern with how long it takes to charge when it is powered on.
According to Chris’ review, it is “7% to 100% with the tablet powered off was around 3 hours 50 minutes” and “Powered on and charging from 7% you’re looking at close to 5 to 6 hours to fully charge the Hi12 when it’s in use”. This is actually quite okay.
BUT if it is actually “1% in 17min”, then it doesn’t make sense to get the Chuwi Hi12, better “Spend the extra money and get a quality product.” as Igor said.
April 23, 2016 at 7:24 pm #34825Charging is somewhat slow; but with a best case scenario; battery is ~10000mAh, charger 2500, CC/CV charging charesterics of the used LIPO cells make it hard to get it topped off in 4 hours; this would mean the charger would run at 2.5A for 4 hours, which is not the case. At about 80-90% of the capacity the battery reaches the 4.2V limit, and the full 2.5A will be throttled down to maintain the 4.2V (hence the constant voltage/constant current charging)
Now, what interests me is why Chuwi is claiming ‘which adopts 3A fast charge technique; which shortens the charging time by 20%’ (which is correct, since 3A is 20% more than 2.5A)
BUT… The included charger is 2.5A…….. So with the 11000mAh battery, this should take more than 5 hours to be fully charged.
April 24, 2016 at 2:15 am #34848thanks for the technical explanation.
now i understand why with a 2.5A charger my tablet can’t reach 100%; it can reach 99% only.
What I've used and what I've got:
TECLAST X98 AIR 3G, TECLAST X98 AIR II, TECLAST X98 PRO,CHUWI HI8, CHUWI HI12, CUBE I9April 24, 2016 at 2:39 am #34852I own a Qualcomm 3A fast charger and the Hi12 is not capable of fast charging. My charger has a LED that turns green when fast charging and blue when it’s not, and the Hi12 is always blue!
Anyway, this charger is better than the factory one that runs a little too hot.
