The unboxing video shows a (very slightly) updated stylus for the i7 Book. However, GearBest just recommends what looks like the one for the i7 Stylus. Is this the updated one or is there a different model?
http://www.gearbest.com/tablet-pcs/pp_211007.htmlAliExpress (socube) doesn’t make it clear if their bundle is the new or old stylus. I imagine it is the new one but I’m hoping to take advantage of the sale on GearBest.
July 9, 2016 at 3:47 am #42973Well, maybe forget I asked.
GearBest’s website is pretty broken. After an hour of fiddling around, it absolutely will not let me buy the i7 Book + keyboard + stylus. Using the sale coupon code is broken, too. See the attached screenshot. I can put them all in my cart but then the code won’t work and the total price is incorrect. I can put the tablet in my cart and apply the coupon, but if I then add the keyboard and stylus to the cart it all breaks again. If they can’t even make their site work then it makes me nervous to buy from them.
The bundle on AliExpress is a few bucks more but at least they are competent enough to make their site function plus it’s Cube’s official store so it should be the latest stylus. I’ll just do that.

July 19, 2016 at 7:06 pm #43942Any wacom enabled stylus should work.
That means you could use a Galaxy Note Tab / Note 1/2/3/4/5 stylus too.
They seem to be available pretty cheap. The Note 1-5 stylus would be a bit smaller… Tab ones would be a more comparable size.

I think the code wont work because the tablet are still presale, and u cant buy bundle then.
July 20, 2016 at 12:16 am #43961Is there a list of models that would be compatible with the i7 Stylus/Book? I know it’s a Wacom EMR, but is there only one version of EMR, or are all of them compatible? I also don’t see EMR mentioned on stores selling Wacom pens. Anything that mentions compatibility with Samsung Note, Wacom Cintiq, Intuos, or Bamboo devices should work right?
For example should these all work?
Is the functionality to do with pressure levels, tilt etc… to do with the digitizer or the pen? or both? For example, can you use a Intuos Pro pen and get 2048 levels of pressure and tilt on any Wacom EMR digitizer? Would it work at all?
July 20, 2016 at 4:35 pm #44009The cintiq and intuos pro pen won’t work with the cube i7 book. The old name of the tech is “wacom penabled”. Nowadays it’s called something like wacom duo touch or wacom feel it. Everything that work with a wacom digitizer and that is not a wacom product will work. Everything that is compatible with galaxy notes or surface pro 1 and 2 (but not 3, 4 and book which are using ntrig digitizer) will also work with the cube.
___EDIT
I just checked your list and none of your stylus will work.

This one works :

July 20, 2016 at 7:37 pm #44027It’s frustrating that Wacom don’t differentiate their stylus technologies. I ‘ll start a list here and add to it as I find more.
- Cube CEP01 Cube i7 Stylus / iWork 11 Wireless Touch Pen – BLACK (1024 Level Pressure)
- Samsung Stylus for Galaxy Note 5 (B014R9DMZ4)
- Galaxy Note S Pen with Eraser (B00B5ZQX0A)
- Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Stylus S Pen -Black (B00NQG2YRM)
- Fujitsu T5000 (B00QYK6Z68 / FPCPN28AP1)
- Samsung Electronics Slate PC Digitizer Pen (AA-DP0NE2B/US)
- Galaxy Note Genuine Wacom Touch Pen 8pi Stylus (ET-S200EBEG)
- Mytrix Technology DP01 Electromagnetic Wacom EMR Digitizer Pen (B00L2FVRX6)
- Lenovo Pen (41u3143)
- Wacom Bamboo Stylus Feel for Galaxy Note Black
- Wacom Bamboo Feel Carbon with Feel technology
- Wacom Bamboo Smart Stylus for Samsung Galaxy Note
July 20, 2016 at 9:00 pm #44030The Dell V86GG is working as well (tested on my i7 book).
Nibs are the same size as used in the Intuos-Pens (as expected my Intuos4-Pen wont work with the i7 book).
July 22, 2016 at 9:22 am #44175All Wacom EMR pens from past to present should work with this tablet. In general, any Wacom manufactured stylus with model code UP should work (except that Bamboo Spark UP3703 pen, which is an actual ink pen + digitizer). I’ve ordered a Fujitsu Lifebook stylus from eBay, will let you know how it works. The Lifebook stylus is known to be one of the best options if you want two customizable side buttons.
The highest end in-production stylus you can get at the moment is probably the Bamboo Feel Carbon. I think any of the Samsung Note styluses that use EMR will also work fine. Overall, the CEP01 stylus seems like a poor value.
July 22, 2016 at 9:38 am #44177I am using 2 Stylus with the Cube i7 Book : The Cube CEP01 and an old samsung one (bought for it’s eraser). The CEP01 has 2 little issues :
- Hard Tip : the tip is made of hard plastic, like most pencils, and as the Cube i7 Book does not have a laminated screen, it is quite noisy on the glass while taking note. Not really a big issue, but may annoy your colleagues …
- In some angle the nib get stuck in the stylus by the torque created on the pencil. This mess up the pressure detected by the stylus, making really thin line where I was wanting some beefy lines. I spend quite some time understanding this one. In any case I have to learn to use always the same angle with the cube i7 book so it’s not a big issue either. (I have to learn to keep a constant angle because on my cintiq I can use any angle I want and the driver will compensate the alignment, but there is no angle detection on the Cube i7 digitizer, so the calibration of the scree is always made in the same way, no matter the angle of the stylus … I do not know if I am clear on that one)
On the samsung stylus, I have a sfot nib that will quickly be dulled and it’s my last one, but it’s much more soft in contact with de glass, and there is no way to “stuck” the nib in the pen so no issue with pen pressure. Be carrefull with the Wacom Bamboo feel Stylus, as there is no eraser …
July 23, 2016 at 11:41 pm #44317My UP-814E was delivered today. First impressions are very good, both side buttons are working, and the eraser works too. There are at least three models of Fujitsu Lifeblood styli on eBay, and they should all work with this tablet if they have UP in the model code.

where you ordered it?
January 16, 2017 at 5:12 pm #60516By far the best value stylus I’ve bought is the Fugitsu T4020/ T4220 one. Miles ahead of the Samsung Note pens. 2-buttons and eraser, 5 spare nibs, much wider range of pressure sensitivity and very well built. They can be found extremely cheaply brand new on ebay, e.g. £6.50 +p&p
January 30, 2017 at 7:10 pm #61236I hear there’s a fire sale on the Note 7 stylus.
