    Shipping update here:
DHL shipment to the US, it sat in status “shipment information received” from 11/30 to now, and I just got an update today (12/5) that the DHL tracking status has changed to “shipment picked up”. Thankfully it’s finally out of the hands of the Ali seller and in the capable (and trackable!!) hands of DHL. I hope for it to be here in a week.
EDIT: DHL site shows “estimated delivery Tues 12/8 by end of day”. sweet! 😀

This goes to show these sellers pull all kinds of tricks to make it appear they shipped it on time, from fake tracking numbers, to finally a real tracking number that they print out and slap on a box just so it shows up in DHL tracking as being valid and destined to your locale, only to not actually get fulfilled for another week. I understand the overwhelming orders from 11.11 sale, but with all the misleading antics, I still call shenanigans.

    Shipping Update:
DHL shows the package has arrived in Los Angeles customs. Looks like the ETA of Tues 12/8 is likely to be correct!

Any other US buyers receive theirs yet?

Did anyone get a pen along with their tablets? Does the pressure sensitivity work ok or do I need to take the crap protector off first?

Arrived today, great machine! BUT, it is missing the stylus. the little stylus box is there with extra tips, but is empty. the “cap” of the pen was stuck in to the slot in the keyboard dock where it’s supposed to be stored, but it was just the cap, stylus itself missing. Contacting seller.

Have You ordered keyboard + stylus bundle or just keyboard bundle?

The cap of the pen comes with every dock for i7, because it stops dust from collecting in the hole.

    Initial Impressions:

I’m comparing this to the Chuwi Vi10, as that’s the device I am replacing with the i7 Stylus.
That said: Screen size is roughly the same, but higher resolution. Text is much sharper as expected. Weight of the device is noticeably heavier, giving it a solid feel. I really like that they did not put a glass back on this like the Vi10, as it was always just a filthy fingerprint mess. This is a matte aluminum back, that does not show fingerprints.

Screen protector came pre-installed (also I got a new one with the package I bought), but had a couple bubbles, so I just pulled it for the time being. I’m generally not a fan of screen protectors. In this case specifically, a pen/stylus can be the difference: If your screen protector is too soft of a material, its a really bad experience trying to draw on it.

    Pen
FYI as mentioned before, my pen was missing from the box, so I ran out to Best Buy and picked up a “Bamboo Smart” wacom compatible pen, and it works great. The pen tip scuffs the stock screen protector pretty good, to the point you can see what you wrote if you get some glare on the screen! The scuffs do come off with a screen cleaning cloth, fortunately. Screen scuffs are far less noticeable without the screen protector. I also realize I am not using the pen intended for this tablet. I’d venture to guess the Bamboo pen is higher grade, but that remains to be seen once the seller ships me the missing item. Pressure sensitivity when drawing is awesome! Palm rejection is “okay”, probably takes some training on my part. It senses the pen at about 1″ from the screen, so if you are good about keeping the pen in that range if you have your palm resting on it while drawing or writing, you’re good to go, otherwise it picks up the touches of your palm and goes whacky. Not bad though, I just have to train myself on this a bit more.

Other reviewers have indicated the lower left back corner of the tablet, where the CPU is, gets hot. This is true. Very true. Even just sitting here on my desk with the Windows 10 News app up, it’s pretty hot. Its not going to burn you or anything, but it’s surprisingly hot.

    Keyboard Dock
Keys are nice to type on, relatively quiet, and not as spongy as the Vi10 keyboard. Docking in position feels solid. It will also lay flat to sort of be a cover, but that doesnt have as solid of a feel. It doesnt hold down the front edges of the tablet and keyboard via magnets or anything, so it doesnt feel like it’s really secure when closed up; I’ll probably have to get a neoprene slip cover for it.

    Performance
Loaded up SketchUp to do some 3D work, just to put it thru its’ paces. This is a surprisingly fast mobile chip, far faster than the Vi10. I think just using desktop apps and moving through applications, cutting between an app and the start screen, everything is very smooth and fluid.

    Charging
This a give-and-take situation. It uses a proprietary 12v wall wort charger, not USB. Kind of sucks to not even have the option to charge via USB as a lower rate if you’re in a pinch. That said, we have gotten to the point where the battery sizes on these devices are too large to charge via USB.  By comparison on my Vi10, if you’re using it while charging, unless it’s being used extremely lightly with very low screen brightness, it will be draining while charging, meaning it draws more power than it can pull from USB. I think this is an interim necessity to have these 12v chargers for our tablets, until USB-C becomes more mainstream, this is really the best option to get a good charge rate.

That’s it for now, would love to hear what others think too!

Trackpad on the keyboard is horrid but keys themselves are decent enough.

    hi,

last Friday I got a text message from DHL with a real tracking number and yesterday I receive my bundle. (cube i7 stylus + keyboard dock + stylus pen I orderd on 11/11 sale from AlieX)

shipping from hong kong to switzerland over weekend. great.

I’m happy with my i7 Stylus. Price vs. performance is ok for my. If you want more performance buy a surface pro 4 and pay a lot more money 😉

My stylus has the newest bios and I can run AndYroid. My Teclast X98 pro is now on ebay 🙂
