That is not good news at all…
For the seal one might say they checked the tablet was not DOA before shipping (have never received a properly sealed tablet actually), but I don’t think those scratches could have been made during any normal quality-testing process.
If Gearbest has started circulating as new products that have been used and/or returned/repaired/refurbished in any way, then this would be an all new turning-point for the store…
…and certainly those brands that use it as an official retailer for the international market will have to reconsider if they don’t want to share the bad press.
Just make sure you test it thoroughly the next days, stress-test with some benchmark programs, check for any unusual errors in Event Viewer etc.
At least, if it is used, you should get a good compensation for it.
March 14, 2016 at 2:54 pm #29349Got mine today too. Fast service, about a week. Not bad.
As for the open box, mine too. But this is normal, they always open them up to check them for faults before shipping them out. The scratches is the first layer of the screen protector. Remove that and you’ll have a new screen protector underneath. They get light scratches on them. Is this your first Chinese tablet I take it?

Next up for review:
Ordered and waiting for my: BMAX S15 & Teclast F6 Plus
Currently testing: LG G8X & Redmi K30March 14, 2016 at 3:34 pm #29356Yes it is my first and I know that they open it to check it.
And everything is fine even underneath the screen protector. (Doesn´t matter because I ordered the tempered one from ali)
But I expect that it is new otherwise they should declare it as used or returned.
Ahh I see what u meant. But even this 2nd Screen Protector is bad… Bubbles from Dust I guess 🙁Let´s see if I get a small refund because I want to order the keyboard or a Stylus.
But don´t know which Stylus I should take tho.Attachments:

I would get this Stylus. Supposedly it is the exact same one as the “original Cube”. Apparently a generic Wacom model compatible with a range of devices. There is a review about it in another thread here but also on the Amazon page (used in Cube i7)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P9XFIJG
Sold in Amazon, by Dell = deal…of course the 12.99$ become 27$+ including shipping to Europe, but still.
I would have ordered it already, had it none been the prospect of a long delay in getting the tablet, as well as cancelling in the process.
Could you do me a favor, to help me decide if I am going to cancel the order or not?
Could you please
- download this pdf document (PHD paper on Syrian Christians actually, very interesting)
- open it with Xodo pdf from Microsoft Store
- go to page 13
- Rotate the tablet to “Portrait” mode
- zoom in to the width of the text (you may need to set the “View Mode” to “Continuous” first)
- take a screenshot (should be Power Button + Vol Up)
- and post it here for me to see?
Would really appreciate it, since I haven’t seen anyone doing a PDF test on it actually…wanna see how my pdfs look in the 16:9 screen

Thank you Grandalf, really appreciate it.
The font seems OK to read and I guess what it loses on the horizontal, it gains it on the vertical…at least with this document, it’s not bad.
What are your impressions dealing with this and/or other (formatted) documents?
Cheers.
March 14, 2016 at 6:31 pm #29383I try other Documents later that day and post my opinion here.
With Pictures aswell.Maybe one of these work aswell?

Of course, you’ve got German Amazon, why buy it from the US?
The Samsung one looks almost identical to the one Cube offers…I would choose that one, but I guess, one must test them out.
Better take a look at this thread here, I think it mentions some of these styli

The original Cube one seems available in the EU warehouse of Gearbest. maybe an alternative…ask them if they actually have stock.March 15, 2016 at 7:08 pm #29521So I just got my tablet a few minutes ago. After I opened it I realized the Seal was already broken and the Screen Protector is full of scratches!!! This Tablet is not new at all. Gonna complain about it and want a partial refund!
Mine wasn’t much better, lots of dust under it. I ended up removing it. Based on someone’s post on another forum I ordered a surface pro 2 protector which did. not. fit.
Did you have any issues with Windows 10? I had so many problems with it, it couldn’t even authenticate microsoft.com’s SSL cert.
March 16, 2016 at 7:58 am #29591I have dust under the second one aswell.
No problems with windows 10, everything works fine for me.
Benchmarks, movies, etc. all good.I ordered the tempered glass protector from Aliexpress.
March 16, 2016 at 8:10 am #29593So I just got 20$ Refund.
Quite good. Removed the first layer and everything was fine 🙂March 16, 2016 at 9:04 am #29597Anonymous

I would say it’s good that Cube is still pre-applying a screen protector; even if the application is not perfect…..Teclast has given up on that…
also, it seems shops have stopped providing such services (I guess it is time-consuming + if they don’t get it right, they either a) have use another screen protector from their stock, i.e. lose money, or b) pay some refund to the buyer for bad application, so they have given up on that entirely..can’t say I blame them, but would be great if they provided good special services like that.)
March 16, 2016 at 12:14 pm #29619I opened the box of mine to check it was working. I see what you mean about the first layer of the screen protector. It’s super scratched up and a few specs of dust under the protector. Still I was rather have it than nothing as you say.
