I just got my keyboard dock and I think I’m having the same issue. Is this why my windows keep minimizing when I move the cursor downwards using the touchpad? Super annoying. Hopefully someone can chime in with a way to disable it.

Doesn’t this disable the trackpad entirely? I still want to use it, just without the edge swipes.

Yes. You are correct. It would disable it entirely. Sorry, no ideas for you.

Got same problem. Tried  to look for ways to disable it through regedit, but still havent found solution. I  just found out that even when i completely disable the touchpad the edge swipe still works even though the touchpad is off. Weird. 😀

It seems we may have to just wait until Microsoft finish migrating everything into  “Settings”

Download generic synaptics driver for I2C

    http://www.synaptics.com/resources

install it via setup then replace Mouse HID driver by Synaptic HID Touchpad (use Update driver then Let me  choose manually and uncheck show compatible drivers and scroll down to Synaptic row)

After that run regedit and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Synaptics/SynTP/Defaults and change Gestures REG_DWORD to 0

I’m looking for solution how to add Synaptics advanced settings tab to mouse properties but no idea ;(

So I’ve just tried it, the driver works fine and everything, but the regedit bit didn’t seem to do anything. I also set EdgeTouch and EdgeTouchSpeed to 0. Any other ideas?

In my research I kept finding people who couldn’t get gestures to work as they had generic drivers that didn’t do gestures. Could that be a solution for us? the problem is when I try and search for it I can only find post about getting gestures to work rather than disabling them…

I notice only left (switch between running apps) and right (open action center) side gestures. Which kind of touch activate this minimize feature?

I find if I set ‘tablet mode’ it stops the swipe effect. The track pad still works normally.
