which one works for you? the 7.1.1 alpha or the 5.1 stable?

it does appear to be some chinese distro though, wonder what is all “implemented” in terms of tracking etc. can you install it onto a sdcard in the sd slot of the mix plus?

I tried Phoenix and found it to be quite slow sometimes. Also it uses a very low Resolution for 3D (thus “faking” a better Performance than it really has).

Back to DuOS here. Very stable, similar Performance as PhoenixOS but runs together with Windows, so no need to reboot.

To my experience PhoenixOs is much smoother in games than DuOS…

Haven’t tried heavy 3d games though and didn’t notice resolution issue.

Partly yes, but at the cost of Resolution / quality. I found amiduos with reduced graphic Quality Settingas (in game settings) to be looking much better than in Phoenix while delivering similar Performance. This goes for e.g. Star War Force Arena and Galaxy of Heroes.

But 3D gfx of course is a complex area, so your mileage may vary considerably with other games.

I´ve made some screenshots showing the vastly better gfx-quality in DuOS compared to Phoenix for the game “Star Wars Force Arena”.

in AmiDuOS this game looks good with some stutteringhere and there, in PhoenixOS you have a bit smoother gameplay but at the cost of a noticeably reduced Resolution. See the attached Images.

You have to install an Android-flavour of your choice by yourself.

But be aware: Neither of them fully support this CPU, all have minor problems – which most likely is the reason that the tablet does not come as Dual OS from the factory. I`d suggest trying RemixOS, PhoenixOS and AmiDuOS to find which one fits your needs best. Those are in my opinion the three best (and that by quite a margin).

Does RemixOS actually work, i wasnt able to boot it up…

But i think once the new Android x86 version comes out (thinking 7.0 here), it should work on kaby lake as well

Yes, remixOS works here – just the tablet does get hot, since Kaby Lake powermanagement is not supported.

The Tablet gets very hot in AmiDuOS as well – this is better in PhoenixOS. But in Phoenix the 3d gfx Resolution at least in some games is ridiculous, in RemixOS it`s high Quality and fast but keeps freezing.

AmiDuOS is not the fastest, but has qood image Quality and is rock-stable here

Haven’t been able to load google play on PheonixOS yet.  I saw a thread with modified system.img but breaks wifi.

Yes, this is another (minor) Thing with Phoenix. But then there are trustful resources to get the apk from, so the presence of the PlayStore is not really crucial.

I sorted the Resolution issue in PhoenixOS – this was due to a manual dpi setting. But with the higher resolution, of course, the Performance is lower. Still the tablet does not get that hot as it does in AmiDuOS in 3D apps, so i´ll keep Phoenix as dual boot on the tablet.

For the occasional use of Android i´ll Keep using AmiDuOS just for the convenience not having to reboot.

    Hello guys,

Last year I got a Teclast X98 Plus II. Not very happy overall with this tablet, however I really liked the dual boot concept. Now, thinking in upgrading to a new tablet, I would like to know how you guys managed to install a stable Android ROM in the Cube Mix Plus as well as the experience in these ROMs that you tried (performance, wifi connection, etc).

Thank you in advance for the answers

Phoenix OS works Quote well, most problems were sorted out in the last updates. Especially the annoying disabled wifi after sleep is fixed.

I use the mix plus with windows for work and DualBoot with Phoenix as a gaming tablet since quite some time now.

Thanks  Joachim. Copy that. I may buy it at the beginning of october. In the mean time, I will try to gather as much information as possible and if I find something interesting, I will post it here.

    Cheers!
