fml. i had an old hub that could be powered with a 5v charger. and when i connected the charger, the hub exploded inside. :/ Now i have to get one also.

February 6, 2016 at 4:11 am #25101Is it possible to convert it without a hub and if not why? Also which hub did you buy?
Hello, When you go to flash Windows 10, following the installation guide, there is a time when you plug one USB8GB fat32, and after a few new screens, you must plug the other usb16gb NTSC without unplugging the first (must be both plugged)
February 6, 2016 at 5:01 am #25104A nice step by step on how to convert to dual boot would be nice, not sure if I’d risk it either way… but I’d be more tempted by a decent guide.

Here is a Pdf of the Chrome translation of the Teclast how to. Having the pictures with the translation makes it a little more clear.
February 6, 2016 at 7:21 pm #25174I think I just bricked it..I followed the instructions and run update_win then I showed “passed” and the update box closed but it didn’t restart..So I pressed restart and now it won’t turn on no matter what I press.. Any help?

Did you used the files from here: http://bbs.teclast.com/thread-532827-1-1.html ? And did you runned it as administrator?
I will be doing it soon, myself. I’m a bit worried now, hope it goes well.
February 7, 2016 at 12:51 am #25215I’m following this: http://www.htcmania.com/showthread.php?t=1138132
It’s in spanish and way easy to translate/follow. Also there, they say to put the bios folder “update_win” in c:/ and run it from there. It worked for me. (Runned it 2 times, just to be sure) and restarted it manually and enter the bios after. (it took a bit more time to show the teclast logo, but it worked like it should, so i dunno what went wrong with Aris :/ )
At the moment i just finished step 7 and have android running.
So far, so good, now i going for the part of the 2 usbs and add windows. Hope everything ends well!
EDIT: Now i’m trying to install windows, but i can’t past step from steps 12 to 13 :/
Any help?
I get a blue screen with an error saying “ACPI_BIOS_ERROR” and then it just restarts and boots to android.
Dunno how i can get to the installing part successfully.
EDIT 2: Finishing installing Windows 10 🙂
Again, if you’re going to dual boot it, use the spanish tutorial! The chinese one on bb, is wrong on steps 11 and 13! First, don’t enable DNX Fast Boot, and second like it says in the spanish tutorial, you’ll get a blue screen with an error, and after it restarts you’ll have to press F7 several times and choose you pen until you get the prompt to insert the second usb.
And that’s it! 🙂
February 7, 2016 at 3:34 pm #25289Good work calhaus.
February 7, 2016 at 4:22 pm #25293Apart from that part where you have to press F7 lots of times and choose the pendrive, everything worked has expected and was easy to do.
Overall in dual boot, everything is working pretty good.
The space is spitted 50/50. On windows i only have 14Gb out of 32.6Gb free (With Disk Cleanup you can free almost 2Gb more) and on Android you’ll have 19.56Gb available.
Windows says is activated, and i didn’t had to add my backuped key, which is good.
Android is also working good, and the shortcuts to change between OS without restarting work well on both.
The main problem people should have in mind: The cameras don’t work on Android, and on Windows only works the frontal.
Other (not so relevant) stuff, the Android launcher from teclast sucks and i wasn’t able to root it yet or found someone that has.
February 7, 2016 at 4:39 pm #25298I am glad that the tutorial helps people. I wear intention to do it in English and put it here. Cameras in effect only works the front on windows. I do not understand why do not work back camera if the same hardware as the A5C8
February 7, 2016 at 4:59 pm #25318Hi,
Do you guys think Mirek rom would work on 98Plus and is it possible to repartition space from android side to win. 14gb usable space on win is not enough.
Thnx

I try install mirek but it doesn’t work. maybe with the x98 plus kernel but I have not tried.
Repartition is possible with a gparted livecd I left 8GB for android data and the rest for windows but it’s complicated.
February 7, 2016 at 5:19 pm #25321Thnx for info David, in your opinion is teclast android rom really that bad as people are saying and how is overall performance on both android and Windows side now that you converted it to dual os. Do you encounter any bugs/issues except for camera, are win any slower, battery drain, etc… do you recomend converting it to dual os or not?

The windows performance is the same that before. The android performance isn’t bad but Clash of Clans is very slow and I wanted android to play that game. Battery stats in android don’t work. The battery life in windows is the same. I recomend convert it if you use android.
