First Batch of Negative reports on Hi10

So, I’ve ordered a hi10 off taobao a while ago. Like all of you,  I’m still waiting.

I am also looking into the Teclast x98 plus ( Thanks for the great reviews! ).

Now for the question, is it worth waiting on the chuwi or should I just request a refund and go with the teclast x98 plus?

@norg Depends on how much you need the USB ports and the keyboard really. The X98 Plus isn’t the fastest, the Hi10 might be optimized better and run a little faster. But the X98 Plus the best battery life I’ve seen on a tablet.

I think I’ll wait another week or so and if there is no news I’ll be hard pressed not to cancel my Hi10 order and go with another tablet. Really do want STD USB ports as I want to run an extra USB wifi adapter for some “projects”.

For the moment there seems to be a lot of confusion on the Z8x00 Tablets:

• Banggood says they will ship the 1st batch of Chuwi Hi10 (still on presale) with 32 bit windows but a 64 bit update will be available until then and a 2nd batch with 64 bit preinstalled will be available in 2 months
• Geekbuying says they will ship the Chuwi Hi10 (still on presale) with 64 bit windows
• Banggodd moved shipment date of Teclast X98 plus from Dec 05th to “end of december” saying Taclast can’t deliver
• Geekbuying moved shipment date of Teclast X98 plus to Dec 30th too
• Banggood also stopped selling Teclast X98 pro, “sold out”
• Customers of other shops (Gearbest et al) / other tablets cancel their oders as these shops can’t provide reliable shiment days.

So either there is a general problem with the production of Z8x00 tablets or demand is in surplus of production.

First of all, I want you to give this Email to someone that can read PROPER/GOOD English.
I have been trying to get in contact via several different ways (facebook, forum)
And so far. none of your Costumer service has actually told anything useful.
This Email will definitly decide a good or bad review on my website which is a very much watched site.
There have been lots of negative comments about the following things online and I want you to ANSWER every single item please.

cheklist questions about the Hi10 orderd via aliexpress on black friday.

-64 bits version of windows.   (lots of users that got the tablet already say they just got a 32 bits version that cant be upgraded due to bios (uefi) restrictions)  IS IT 64 BITS (not the proccecor but the opeating system)2
-4gb of ram (a couple of users claim that there is only 2.9gb available because of the windows version nog beging 64 bits)

-All drivers to be installed and working (there are storys of people missing some drivers… which makes the device useless)

-can CHUWI ASSURE us that they will bring out a x64 compatible BIOS in a short period of time? (so that we can update the device ourselfs)

@Chris Thanks for the reply. I would definitely need a keyboard. (Was hoping to use the office programs ). I’m assuming you mean the Hi10 is a better choice if you need a keyboard.

Given what I’ve read today (saying a lot of the problems should be fixed in the second batch) , I’ll wait for the Hi10.

The whole 4GB of available RAM is never going to be 100% available as the integrated graphics (GPU) will have been assigned a chunk of it, this is the same for any 32 / 64bit OS. The situation is worse on a 32bit OS however as they use the RAM above 3.25GB (varies by +-0.25GB in general) for DMA addressing and system caches. From a software development stance there is very little performance differences between 32 and 64bit systems. I also very much doubt any 3rd party application will be able to use this “invisible ram” as they call it as the memory address is locked out by the kernel (only accessable by drivers, not user mode code).

Just wondering for the guys who bought on black Friday from Aliexpress, did VC Mall “send” with fake tracking numbers or the orders has been cancelled automatically?

I bought on black friday from VC Mall. I did not received any fake tracking number or order cancealation. They just wrote with request to extend processing time and excuse for problems. Thats all.

I also bought from VC Mall and was requested to extend the processing time. Yesterday I was going to extend it a few hours before time running out but they had already marked it as shipped. When I asked about it, they told me that it has really shipped. Weird thing is that the day before yesterday they told me it was not going to ship until Dec 13-15. So I really don’t know what to believe now… How do I know if the tracking number is fake or not?
