    Order still not sent

I live chatted Gearbest and sent them another message about my 11-11 order. They gave me the out of stock answer and said 5-7 business days. I know they probably don’t have any idea when this item will be dispatched, but I’m not going to let them keep kicking the can down the road without a complaint. I know it’s China, and a cheap tablet, but when you say I’ll ship in 2-3 days then don’t then say I’ll ship in 5-7 days and dont, then say I’ll ship in 5-7 more days, you are gonna provoke me to give a terse comment. If I as a business, knew I had orders and could not fulfill them, I’d be contacting my customers to apoligise, not waiting for them to contact me and force them to complain. Well, let me know when you get your tablets, I’ll let you know about mine, hopefully!

Then why don’t you cancel your order at gearbest and order it for 10$ less from banggood?

I’m sure not earning actual money is going to hurt them more than you complaining to them and strangers on the internet.

Yeah, I thought about it, but I’m caught in the changing lanes in traffic, on the interstate or grocery store checkout conundrum. I’m going to give them this last chance, and if they falter, I’ll send them back the keyboard I already got from them too. Thanks for the advice though. I’m just keeping the convo going.

That”s awful, mine from AliExpress was sent in the next day I ordered it. It left Singapore some days ago.

Well mine is in Paris at the moment. So I’m expecting it to arrive either tomrrow or next week assuming the customs won’t check it.

So at least I have to give that to gearbest, their free “premium” shipping is really fast once it is shipped.

To be fair, I knew there was going to be waiting time when I ordered mine and saw the expected shipping time being delayed for the first time and it didn’t bother me. But you are right, waiting more than 2 weeks for it to be shipped is a little outrageous, even though I also understand it, because they need to ship them in chronological order and with all that price drop going on with the 11.11 sale and black friday afterwards cube cannot possibly keep up deliveries with the high demand that arises. Happens all the time when there is huge demand for certain products, and this does not apply to china only.

Honestly, while it sounds like a rant, it is mostly a testiment to others that might order in the future. I know it was 11-11. I know this tablet is in demand. I have tried to appeal to their customer service, but my attempts to relate to them are not being met with an appropriate response from them. In other words, if you don’t have the tablet for sale and it’s on back order, then take the sales page down or something similar. Don’t just put your customers in the position of questioning doing business with you in the future. If it wasn’t so far in the pipeline, I would cancel and buy for $10 less from Bangood, but Banggood doesn’t have a great reputation for delivery either. I’m apoligizing to you here for this banter, but maybe someone in the future will benefit from this conversation.

It will take a while to get here, it was in China but it had to go to Singapore first, they do that to make cheaper shipping. Since it’s an EMS, if you want your stuff not to be stolen here in Brazil you need to use EMS, it will be checked by customs and I’m sure they’ll tax it badly… but I have some hope, my boyfriend ordered a huge box about 200USD good and he got it with no taxes, a friend of mine got a smartphone with no taxes as well. And, yes, they steal a lot at postal service here, I remember a post officer was arrested with a 10,000USD good computer parts, a lawyer who’s specialized on postal matters told that the employees from the postal distribution center of my city, Rio de Janeiro, had very expensive cars.

First of all, you don’t need to apologize for anything. 😉

I think it is very relatable for anyone that your situation sucks and it is natural that you want to vent your thoughts.

You should definitely post your experience in the right thread in this forum concerning the provided gearbest service so more people can read about it, because right now the number of active readers in the i7 book forums is pretty much limited to the people who already own it or just ordered, plus this thread is the wrong one alltogether if you want to warn people.

On the other hand you might also want to adopt another mindset when buying tech from china, it just takes a lot of time. As long as you are not in absolute dire need (and I assume nobody who orders from china is, because then you would order another product elsewehere that arrives faster) there is no point in stressing about it. It is going to arrive eventually, and on the rare ocasions it doesn’t, be thankful for buyer protection.

It all is a matter of perspective.

I never had to wait for any order from banggood to be shipped and had an overall good experience and excellent communication with them. Even though they managed to send me some false products, they reshipped the wanted ones and let me keep the other stuff (to be fair it wasn’t that valuable anyway and the return shipping would have exceeded the product values).

On the other hand I had a similar experience to yours when I ordered my cellphone from coolicool almost 2 years ago. It was a presale and the demand was so high that I had to wait around three weeks for it to even be shipped if I recall correctly.

In the end it all depends on the given circumstances.

So while warning others with your example is fair game and acceptable (even advisable)  it won’t change anything about the fact that at the moment you are going to have a hard time waiting if you order one of the tablets that are in high demand. I mean gearbest doesn’t even offer the cube i7 book as a sale at the moment, probably because of enormous backlog and and scarce manufacturer deliveries. I’m pretty sure that if you were to buy the tablet at banggood right now they also have a hard time shipping it anytime soon.

I would be very angry if that happens to me, to tell you the truth it happened to me once when I bought a Bluetooth mouse at a local store, they gave my money back on their own because we have severe laws about selling products with no stock.

My tablet from 11-11 sale is somewhere in France. Keyboard already arrived. Chronopost doesn’t seem to operate in Finland at all so keyboard was delivered by some nonbranded minivan guy lol.

Lol! Here the vans must be unbranded, or at least have no logos on it or the cargo will be stolen for sure.

    Mine was delivered today.

    09.11 – ordered

    18.11 – shipped

    29.11 – delivered

I have to admit, the standard free shiping from gearbest is very fast.

It also passed the cutoms because it was declared as a power adapter. xD

Lucky you… here the customs officers don’t fall for that. They tax everything, they taxed  my boyfriend’s 5USD ring and my 6.99USD U8 watch.

In austria (perhaps the whole EU, I don’t know) most items under ~23€ are taxfree.

So if a parcel is declared under that there is a big chance the customs won’t check it, even though they might just to see what is in there.
