Hi Alex,
get the “Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool” from Microsoft and create a bootable thumbdrive with this tool and the .iso you downloaded.
Since my laptop hasn’t arrived yet (my order from May never made it through…), I am not sure about the USB ports. If during setup the install media isn’t recognized any more, you will have to plant modern Intel USB drivers into the Windows .wim image. There are tools from e.g. ASUS and Gigabyte, which do the job. I have used the one from Gigabyte (“Windows USB Installation Tool”) with success in the past.July 12, 2017 at 5:25 pm #69087Thank you Oliver,
well I just tried several things. First I created a bootable thumbdrive with “Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool”. Plugged it in the Usb port of the jumper ezbook but the usb stick did not appear in boot options. (formatted in ntfs)
Then I went by using diskpart. I followed a youtube video on how to create a bootable usb stick. The stick converted to Fat32. Same files on the stick. And it actually showed up as an boot option as UEFI: flash memorypmap, partition 1. Unfortunately it did not boot windows setup :/ . Instead I got a black screen with yellow text.
Don’t know where to go from here.
July 12, 2017 at 5:32 pm #69088Since I haven’t seen the BIOS setup yet, I am not sure, if you can turn off Secureboot and EFI boot (or at least enable the CSM in combination with EFI). Without further action, a thumbdrive created from the .iso won’t install in pure EFI mode, so you would have to enable the compatibility support module (CSM) in the BIOS setup. Maybe there will be a storage setting, which lets you choose “Legacy” for boot, this should also be enabled.
I am not even sure, if anyone succeeded so far in installing Windows 7 on this device. Mine should arrive in a few days (if the delivery guys won’t “lose” it again), maybe I will try a Windows 7 install myself, just for fun.
July 12, 2017 at 6:32 pm #69089I tried uploading pictures of the bios but they just won’t upload for some reason. Well Secureboot is disabled. Couldn’t find an EFI boot option nor legacy for boot. And I can’t find the CSM setting as well :/

Also, there seems to be a “Win 7” setting, not very intuitively, under Chipset->Southbridge->OS SelectionBut these options are just hearsay, I won’t know for sure until in a few days, when I got my hands on this unit.
July 13, 2017 at 2:11 pm #69174I eventually got it to work but had to sacrifice windows 7 for windows 10. It recognized windows 10 immediatly. Got my ssd running now but ran into another problem. Whenever I boot the laptop it asks me which hard drive I would like to boot from. I guess I can avoid that by formatting the 64 eMMC.
Got any advice or video that shows me how to do that?
EDIT: Do I have to install any drivers?
July 14, 2017 at 10:23 am #692191. Start > Windows System > This PC
2. Click on This PC near the bottom left.
3. Right click on the eMMC drive 56.9GB, and click Format.
I’m not sure if it will be called “C” or “D” on your PC. But windows won’t let you format the drive that you are currently running windows from so you can’t accidentally get it wrong.
4. Click Start. You will get a warning asking if you are sure, click Yes. In my image I am actually formatting an SD card but you get the idea.

I need about 5 restarts till windows finaly boots up.
I made a video which shows the problem… I think of switching Windows back to the EMMC because of this…
July 14, 2017 at 8:14 pm #69250Thank you Simon for your guide. I will use it shortly and tell you if it worked.
Hello Thomas,
your bios seems to be messed up. Boot options are disabled. Can you enable them by click on it?
If you cannot enable them, my guess would be that secure boot is enabled under the security tab. Have a look at the second picture I posted.
July 14, 2017 at 9:14 pm #69253Nah, the problem is that the EZbook only find my SSD after a few starts (even in the BIOS). Thats why every boot was disabled
But when I install Windows on the EMMC it boots up fine and the SSD is found in Windows…
It´s like the SSD need to be warm to be recognized…
July 23, 2017 at 3:32 pm #69563Hello Thomas, Go to boot menu disable UEFI and reboot see it works, I have set this on mine after disable UEFI.

Good day biyboybig
Where in bios can I find the UEFI feature to disable it?
I am trying to install windows7 on my EZ book 3 Pro and cannot make the USB / windows7 drive load.
Thanks

Good day Oliver
Did you manage to find a way to install Windows7 on your new EZ 3 pro?
It seems mine will NOT load Windows7 in *legacy* configuration…… I did find the legacy option in bios, and did enable it, and also set the ““Win 7” setting, >> Chipset->Southbridge->OS Selection” , but still it seems to only want to boot to UEFI mode.
Thanks

July 25, 2017 at 4:28 pm #69645As far as I understand it, Windows 7 has no full support for Apollo Lake CPUs. So I doubt you manage to get Windows 7 to work.
