I bought the newest Xiaomi AX3600 router and here is a speedtest I measured. Absolutely insane that this speed is on WIFI.

December 29, 2020 at 2:54 pm #220788Wow that’s amazing! I might try that to when I get a WiFi 6 router 😀
Hi @freddycom,
I’m not very familiar with network cards, but I’m wondering why you are placing the AX200 card in the second PCIe slot instead of just replacing the old card. I’d love to do the upgrade to WiFi 6 too, but I would like to use my secondary M.2 slot as extra storage. I found online that the connection of the original AC 8265 is the same as th AX200 card, so why didn’t you just replace the network card? Is it because you need other antennas for WiFi 6?
Sorry for all the questions, cheers!

December 30, 2020 at 7:15 am #220795Hello Marco
You must use the secondary M2 SSD slot, because the AC8265 is soldered on, you can’t replace it by simply disconnect the old one and pop in the new one. Please note that by using m2 slot via adapter, you lose the built in bluetooth funcionality.
December 30, 2020 at 7:51 am #220797Ow I see now. So no more BT at all when installing this WiFi 6 card?

December 30, 2020 at 8:04 am #220799You can always use a BT dongle that you plug in the USB port on the left when you need it. The lack of bluetooth functionality doesn’t come from installing this particular AX200 card, but because the nature of the m2 adapter we are using here.
“Cards like the AX200 are designed to be used in M.2 Type E connectors; they are not designed to be used in M.2 Type M connectors (this is what we have). Using an adapter to convert between the two is not complete; the M.2 Type M connector does not provide the USB 2.0 lane required to support Bluetooth.”
December 30, 2020 at 8:50 am #220803Alright, thank you for the info 🙂
There is also no way to use the BT from the ac 8256 and the wifi from the ax200? Just a random thought, I don’t really know how network cards work 😀

May 10, 2021 at 6:28 am #221685Hi! Ferdinand, great info out there. Is it not possible to use the first SSD slot instead? I am planning to wait for WiFi 6E or Intel AX210 card a bit longer as the latest one and already started rolling this year. Please see attached photo. Thanks!

Hello Thomas!
It’ll work, however the primary SSD slot is PCIe x4, the secondary slot is only x2, so you won’t get the full speed of your Samsung 980 SSD if you’re using it in the second one.
May 11, 2021 at 5:51 pm #221690You’re right. I’ve just tested it and about to say the same now. Thank you for your help.
June 29, 2021 at 10:28 am #221781Hey, looking to upgrade my wifi card and was wondering if it would be possible to use a M.2 adapter that allows for Bluetooth capabilities? am fairly new to the scene and don’t know much so thought I would ask. I’ve found this adapter which says it can do bluetooth as well, would it work?
August 19, 2022 at 12:10 pm #223446Hey Josh, did you get BT to work with the adapter? That’s what’s stopping me from replacing the wifi card
