Is it possible to re-flash the bios through a host pc to the tablet?

This is a solution for the Vi8 using a rom. I don’t know how to adapt this to the Vi10

That’s similar to my solution for the Vi10 Pro, but it requires a working touchscreen or for you to own the Vi10 keyboard.
If you’ve got a Vi10 Pro with the build 221511 (bottom left of the tablet) then you’re in the same situation as this guy and there might be a fix for you soon.
May 27, 2016 at 10:40 pm #38855My touch screen doesn’t work for windows.
But I think I can fix it by flashing a windows rom on it.
May 28, 2016 at 12:04 pm #38907Flashing either a Windows or Android ROM won’t reset the BIOS. You’ll need to follow these instructions.
The fix only applies to the 221511 revision of the Chuwi Vi10 Pro.
May 28, 2016 at 12:39 pm #38909Damn, I have the 221506.
May 28, 2016 at 1:01 pm #38912FIXED. For anyone who has the same problem go to this post: http://techtablets.com/forum/topic/reset-bios-chuwi-vi10pro-no-keyboard/#post-38911
The fix is posted by Jonathan.

I just looked around for the 221506 BIOS, but I can’t find it anywhere online. You’re really lucky that the 221511 fix also works for your version 🙂
You should boot to your BIOS and select to restore the defaults, just to be sure that everythings back to how it should be.
May 28, 2016 at 10:26 pm #38947Just for the benefit of anyone else looking for a fix please note that the technique I posted on the other thread is not a first line solution. It is based on data obtained empirically from a very small set of tablets (3 or 4) and some educated guesses on my part. Although I’ve been carefull to include safety checks and keep the changes to the system to a minimum there is still an attendant risk involved in its use.
If you have a working Windows (or possibly even Android) system there are potentially better ways to restore USB functionality posted on this forum.
May 28, 2016 at 11:07 pm #38949I am lucky. I was so desperate that I didn’t care what version the fix was for.
May 28, 2016 at 11:45 pm #38951Huy, It’s understandable and your risk means that we now know this works for another version of the tablet, this may very well help someone else down the line…
May 28, 2016 at 11:52 pm #38953@Jonathan True. That’s good to know. Now I have another problem with installing windows. I create a bootable USB with RUFUS setting it to FAT32 and GPT partition.
When I boot from USB in the boot manager, I get a windows error PC/USB need to be repaired?
May 29, 2016 at 12:07 am #38954Presumably you are using the 32-bit version of Windows?
Please also try Tuxboot instead of Rufus.
May 29, 2016 at 12:18 am #38955Yes I am. I’ll give that a shot Jono.
May 29, 2016 at 12:24 am #38956I think it might be a bad installer. I’ll try to download another windows oem iso.
