- Download this SuperSU zip to your tablet while it’s using Android
- Enable USB debugging on the tablet
- Plug your tablet into a PC and tell Windows to skip obtaining any drivers from Windows update
- Download and install the Intel USB driver and the iSoc USB driver onto your PC
- Download IntelAndroid-FBRL and extract it with 7-Zip or WinRAR
- Click on launcher.bat, type “ACCEPT” and then type “T3”
- Leave the tablet and your PC alone while the tablet reboots two times
- When you see ClockworkMod on your tablet you can use your volume keys and power button to select “install zip”
- Select “choose zip from sdcard” and then go to “0/” where you’ll see your download folder that contains the UPDATE-SuperSU zip file
- Reboot once SuperSU is installed. It might say “Root access possibly lost. Fix?” just select “no”
- Wait until the tablet has booted back into Android and then you can unplug it from your PC
You won’t be able to fix multi-user support just by being rooted. You’ll also need to install Xposed in a special way and then download a module that I’m releasing shortly.
February 12, 2016 at 1:32 pm #25802Thanks! Did you tried this process with this device and succeed?
February 12, 2016 at 3:03 pm #25805Thanks! Did you tried this process with this device and succeed?
Of course 🙂 I’m an Android developer, so I needed to root my device so that I could gain access to some things easily.
February 13, 2016 at 9:49 am #25872Thank you. I am not familiar with Android, this tablet my first Android device (I used Blackberry and Windows mobile before) but I am developer too (PHP). But I hope I can done this process without problem :). If I succeed have I a real multi-user / multi-login feature like in Windows? For example the messenger and any social network automatically will use the logged user’s accounts? If I do something wrong in this process can I lost the device functionality for example never boot again or can I got some unresolvable fatal problem? Thanks!!!! 🙂
February 13, 2016 at 4:26 pm #25898The above procedure just gets you root access, it doesn’t get you a multiuser feature. To quote ImADev:
You won’t be able to fix multi-user support just by being rooted. You’ll also need to install Xposed in a special way and then download a module that I’m releasing shortly.
BTW, PHP/Android? You’re both masochists…
February 14, 2016 at 5:14 pm #25995Thanks, root access good solution for me, I already downloaded the multiuser solution just root access required. Maybe can I install another rom with this feature?
February 14, 2016 at 10:06 pm #26009Just to be clear, my patch adds back multi-user as it should be in the settings menu. It also fixes the horrible text quality and I plan on adding further options too.
You can’t install another ROM just by having root access. ROM’s need to be made for specific hardware so that things like the touchscreen, cameras etc. will work correctly. As things stand we’re stuck with 4.4.4 and I don’t think we can even customize the kernel because Chwui hasn’t released the source, which they really should do. They’re a Chinese company though, so they don’t always follow the rules.
February 15, 2016 at 4:35 pm #26042Have you tried compiling an Androidx86 kernel?
I haven’t looked at the modules/firmware for the stock 4.4.4 or Remix 1.0 versions that we have, but RemixOS2.0 at least boots and that’s using an opensource Ax86 kernel. Just need to get the other hardware to work.
Would I be right in thinking the stock/remix1.0 kernels are AndroidIA kernels rather than Ax86?
February 17, 2016 at 5:15 am #26230Have you tried compiling an Androidx86 kernel?
Nope, not yet. I know that Chuwi has made modifications though as the ramdisk contents is much different.
I’ve just released my Xposed module for all Chuwi tablets that have the font issues and/or missing multi-user support in the settings menu.
February 17, 2016 at 1:05 pm #26274That’s what made me think it was an Android IA ROM (having lib/modules in boot.img for example), probably pointless trying to use the kernel we have (3.4 or something) when RemixOS2 is using 4.0.9 (and can use 4.4 from Ax86)
Hopefully it’s just me but I can’t tell the difference between the before/after shots, and isn’t the multiuser just two lines in build.prop?
February 21, 2016 at 6:37 pm #26614I done this process, installed Xposed framweork and multiuser module. I waiting for the result while restart :)))
February 21, 2016 at 6:44 pm #26615Hmmmm something wrong, the android just restart after Intel inside logo after I installed Xposed framework… Can I repair this?
February 21, 2016 at 7:03 pm #26616I downloaded Xposed framework from here:
http://repo.xposed.info/module/de.robv.android.xposed.installer
and I installed / activated from the settings of this app. Maybe I failed when I downloaded version 2.7 experimental1 instead of 2.6.1.
After the tablet just do continuous restarts after Intel inside logo. Only one time the login screen released, but after the android just do restarts. Is it possible to repair, or this feature gone forever?
February 21, 2016 at 7:18 pm #26620Now I successfully started android with safe mode. Trying to delete Xposed framework. I just want to ask before I try again, the older version will work?
February 21, 2016 at 9:18 pm #26628Finally I did and now I have Users under device on settings. This is the guide how to install Xposed framework without getting bootloop:
