You can boot to usb by going into the bios and selecting the usb key from the boot options.

To enter bios plug a keyboard into the usb hub and when you see the teclast logo hit delete.

    Keep us posted!

Some posted that the factory reset may fail when an SD card is in the slot. I need to add that info to my tricks/tips post.
Also if you keep pressing F7 as soon as you release the power button, the tablet will boot up to a boot menu selection screen.

I had tried that but it didn’t work. I figured out what i was doing wrong though, turns out the iso needed to be x64 but id read that uefi was x86 only so i used that to make an iso with. Anybody tested linux on this thing yet? gonna make a linux boot disk with a modded efi, was wondering what touch support would be ike

If you want Windows 10 with Teclast official image there are no problems. I don’t want to test linux because I don’t think it will work well.

Edit: Got it working, never mind. Thanks to the owner of this site for an excellent windows restore tutorial!

I only have a windows only A5C6 so my advice is only conjucture but there have been several posts of windows updates failing due to insufficient storage due to Teclast’s 50/50 stupid windows/android split. Plug in a low GB sd card formated to fat32 (16-32) and see if you can get the reset to complete. It will take a while….be patient!

    <hr />

I have (had) about 20GB free.. I didn’t really use the tablet yet. I did make a backup and a restore point but I’m not sure how to get to the screen where I can choose it. All I see is the circle dots loading, then it changes to “Welcome”, then quickly (about 1 second) 64% to 95% and reboot. I will try the SD card thing but can you advice how to go about using the rescue image ( which for some reason is just 230MB), or the restore point that I’ve made in Windows?

    Thanks!

I have the exact same issue.  I have been in touch with my provider (Geekbuying) but other than acknowledging my problem, I have not heard back from them with a solution.

I will be trying the sd card trick and will advise on results.

Well.. There’s a saying originated from the Jewish Midrash Raba that in sort of translation means “a sorrow shared is a sorrow halved”.

I will update as well if I manage to fix it.  Good luck to us.

Hi, I uploaded a VIDEO of what I am experiencing..

    What can I do here?
All I did was a Windows 10 reset on a new tablet.
The system have a restore point that I made when I got it. My problem is that there is no way to get into the Windows recovery screen!  No F8 \ Shift+F8 \F2 etc… Microsoft disabled everything in Windows 10. Microsoft seems to embraced Apple’s logic of “we know better than you”.

Now I’m creating a bootable Windows 10 installation because before you install windows , you have to option to repair the current installation first which is what I’m trying to do.
Problem:  How do I boot from USB in the Windows partition?     I saw a video by Chris that showed how to do it straight from the bios, but overriding the Android partition which I want to keep.

How to boot from USB just in the Win partition?

Gal i’ve been giving this some thought. Only thing i can suggest is to attach a usb keyboard using an adapter and hit F2 or DEL as the tablet boots to get to the BIOS. Tried it on mine and it worked. Once in the BIOS there are various boot option priorities you can configure, one of which is Windows Boot Manager. If you do manage to install from an external USB stick then i guess you will need a usb adapter hub. At this point i am out of my depth. Apologies if i am repeating info you already have but maybe someone else can help from here. Good luck.

    Hi Fred,
Thank you.    I followed your advice and managed to get into the Windows 10 installer.  From there I tried the “repair” but for some reason it couldn’t find my restore point. From there I chose to reset the windows (I chose to reset only the windows partition so maybe Android will survive).
Now it says “Resetting this PC..” so I’ll update later.

What bothers me is that I can’t tell how much battery I have during this process.  I think I had around 90% when I started. I wonder if the reset is using the Win10 USB drive or not.  If not, I can connect the charger. It’s just at 5% now after around 25 minutes.

OK I disconnected the USB hub and connected to the charger. The installation continues so it seems it does not use the USB.  I’ll update later with the results.
