Hey, if you just bought a X80 Plus and spent the last few days trying to root your new tablet with the guides you found online and you’re having problems, chances are you’re using a guide for a slightly different tablet. Like I was.
There are 2 different versions of the X80 Plus (so far). The H5C5 and the H6C3 – and the files provided by the people who made those guides are not compatible with the newer version (wish someone had told me that 2 days ago).
So, I made my own files.
I’ve been using my rooted H6C3 for the past 2 days without any problems. No more unresponsive touch screen, the screen rotates and the sound is working perfectly (those were the problems the wrong files caused me). Also, no more “missing SIM card” warning and the WiFi seems to work perfectly.
It’s the exactly same root process just with some different files, namely boot.img and the updated SU Binary files (SuperSU-v2.79).
Important: Updating SuperSU from the Play Store may partially break root.
Root files for H6C3 (SuperSU-v2.79) – Build V1.08_20160603 – Kernel 3.14.37:

(Includes the original Chinese and someone else’ google translation of the guide.)
The tools needed:

Stock ROM V1.08, tools and Windows 10 files just in case you need them for whatever reason:

The cloud they use to host the files is horrible. You need to sign up with your mobile. This link lets your use a non-Chinese mobile number (don’t forget to select your country’s code (use Chrome’s automatic translation):
https://passport.baidu.com/v2/?reg&u=http://pan.baidu.com®Type=1&tpl=netdisk&overseas=1
I hope all this helps someone.
PS: Just don’t forget to delete all of the new bloatware. Not my fault.
PPS: The problems with the SD card seems to be from the manufacturer.

I don’t know, probably not. Mine came already with v1.08_20160603.
But you can always flash the v1.08 ROM first and then root it. You can download the update from the manufacture’s website (instructions above) and google translate the guide they provide with the files.
Good luck

January 10, 2017 at 8:52 am #60193I had a problem. Root worked, but my 16Gb SD card only recognizes 0.89Gb on the Tablet. And Also the message to update the SuperSU binaries did not disappear

The SD thing , unfortunately seems to be a widespread “defect” of the product line. Root or not.
