Hi every Chuwi VI10’s owners, today i am going to explain to you how to install Windows 10 with iso file and with all drivers funccioning. Now, even the i2c drivers install with no problems. In my old tutorial i used the images but i know that we always prefer clean installation made by ourlselves LOL. So let’s get to it. Those are the steps:

1-Prepare a USB drive with Windows 10 on it

2-Check if you have the old BIOS, and downgrade if needed

    3-Install Windows 10

4-Go to safe mode to install the drivers with DoubleDrivers (this is what changes everything) then reboot the tablet still in safemode and then disable safemode and boot it normally

5- Make some adjustments and enjoy!

NOTE: This method only works with Windows 10 and i don’t know why but anyway Windows 10 is better, so….

    Download section:

-Windows 10 with the tool from Microsoft directly: https://www.microsoft.com/fr-fr/software-download/windows10

    -The old BIOS: https://mega.nz/#!bJskxYDB!cc3j-oD01O6jBNe3OoqAfnkoNEEfVCeyVwKKyRAvNB0

-The drivers for the 221510 and 221509 series: https://mega.nz/#!CBMjhRQT!t25ytdn_rGUosjZtW-ej4SoBrYQPt2QwCZFo-SwjcII

(It is originally for HI8 but both VI10 and HI8 have same hardware)

-The drivers for older versions from Chris: http://techtablets.com/chuwi-vi10/downloads/ (I would suggest the drivers made with DoubleDrivers)

I- To check if you have the good BIOS, go to your BIOS and go to SCU. I you have J1D you are good, if you have G1D you must downgrade. To do so, simply format a USB drive to fat32, and move the files from the archive to the USB drive. Boot on it, and let it finish properly!!

II-To create a Windows 10 installation USB, simply format the USB pendrive in Fat32 and move all the files from the ISO file to the USB pendrive.Boot on it and install it.

III- You need to boot the tablet in safe mode. To do so, you need to execute msconfig (i personally installed classic shell to have the classic start menu and to have the execute function), then go on start, secure start and select safe mod, then reboot.

IV- The tab restarts in safe mode. Launch double drivers in administrator, select the driver’s path and install those, you shouldn’t have any problems.

V- Reboot the tab still in safe mode then desable safe mode and restart it normally.

VI- Now the tab should work. If it doesn’t, and that you have a bunch of unrecognize devices, go the bios, SCU,advanced and select Windows instead of Android, pres f10 to save and reboot.

Hi, thanks a lot, great tutoriales

I am waiting my chuwi vi10. I will do a macrium reflect free full backup and after i want to: erase windows recovery papartition (is the last one, number 18), and windows one (number 17) so i will be able to install windows 10 in 20gb free space.

Do you think is correct ? Why do we need to preserve windows recovery partition when we know to install w10 form ISO/USB ? In my opinion we can safe remove that partition. What do you think?

    Happy new year !!!!

Personally what I did were to simply erase every partitions while the windows installation to only have one big , I didn’t save any partitions because as you say it is useless

Good to hear @Oscar ! @Erik-Jan, strange, but anyway i would suggest you to reinstall windows as i explain, Windows activate itself automatically and it will be cleaner anyway.

But if you want to preserve dual boot and android you can’t erase all partitions. Waht do you think about my post of erasing only windows’s recovery partition? Has anybody already done it ?

    Happy new year !!!

It would be really nice to delete all recovery partitions, and extra trash, and just have a clean copy of windows 10 as light as possible, and then create a recovery ourselves using a tool that makes an exact image of all the updates/software/changes we do, like Acronis True Image.

Question: Would I be able to install this version of Windows 10?

    en_windows_10_multiple_editions_version_1511_x86_dvd_7223716.iso

It is the latest version of Windows 10 in VL (volume license) as of January 2016, and it has the Home Edition and Pro edition… obviously I want just the Home edition for this tablet, and VL, so that I can activate with any KMS activator out there (MS Toolkit by CODYQX4) or even manually myself.

After that, I wish to manually, or use this tool: [Script] Win 10 Toggle Tweaker (V3.2)

To debloat, and remove Telemetry, and disable unnecesary services, and most trash I can from Windows 10… and after that, create a nice Recovery Clone of everything I did with Acronis True Image?

    That would  be awesome :p
