Ahh… All I did was a reset and now it won’t boot to windows anymore.  I boots, shows “Welcome” and then the percentage goes from something to 95% and then reboots..

    Hi Gal,

unfortunately I can’t help you, but I’m facing the same or a similar issue.

I have the A6C9 (3G) and after issues with the WiFi driver (the device was not found anymore) I did a reset.

Now it boots to a screen where I should choose the operating system, but I can’t do anything there – just wait till the time is up, then it reboots into the same screen again.

Unfortunately I did not extract my Win key 🙁

Any ideas how to fix this?

To fix this problem you are going to need several thing.

    1. Usb hub
    2. OTG cable / adapter
    3. Usb Keyboard (dongle keyboard should work too)
    4. Usb Mouse (dongle mouse should work too)
    5. Flash Drive (8GB or more)
    6. Windows 10 home ISO (Windows 10 home installation files)
    7. Teclast x98 drivers and also a touchsettings.gt file

You can download the Windows 10 Home ISO from Microsoft.

You can also download the teclast x98 plus drivers from this site under the download section. The teclast x98 plus drives folder will contain a touchsetting.gt file but that touchsetting.gt file has some calibration problem, so i will provide you with a link to a better one.

    Hi kvn,

good to hear that the issue can be fixed 🙂

Can i use the installation files from Windows media creation tools?

So, last question is how to proceed…

    • I guess I have to boot from usb (which setting in bios do i need?)
    • Do some repair function from windows installer ? or do a fresh install?
    • Do I have to install the drivers manually then, and where do i place the touchsettings.gt file?

    I appreciate your help.

    In regards to your questions

Yes you can use the installation files from Windows media creation tools.

Yes you will have to boot from usb drive

I did a fresh installation of windows but i think you might be able to boot from the usb drive and then try a repair, i never try that option but its worth a try.

Yes you will have install all the drivers manually but its not hard.

You will need to place the touchsettings file in C:/Windows/INF folder, this is done after you have install windows.

    Thanks a lot.

last question.. (hopefully) if I have to do a fresh install, do I need to enter the license key again?

(because I did not save it before)

Glad you ask that licence key question, I did not backup my licence key before i did the clean installation but surprisingly  it was saved somewhere on the tablet, because when i install windows i did not have to enter a key and after i connect to the internet windows activated without any issue.

But i have heard person having activating issues because the original windows 10 licence was licence to the Chinese region and the windows 10 software they install was an English version.

I bought my tablet from GearBest last month and it was shipped to the US, so i do not know if they have upgraded the windows 10 licence based where the tablet is to shipped. So i think in my case i might have gotten an English or international windows 10 licence because my tablet was shipped to the US, which is a English region.

Hmm, i think i messed up the whole system.
Tried to repair windows from usb, but did not work.
Tried to install a fresh version of windows, chose the partition 14, but the installer told it could not find or create a partition.
Then i deleted the partition and created a new one. When trying to install windows on it, i get an error message “Windwos detected that EFI system partition is formated NTFS. Format in FAT32 and restart.”

But I’m not sure if ther will be more damage after formatting som system Partition and I’m also not sure which partition it should be.

    Any Idea how to proceed?

The partitions are the tricky part to installing back windows because the android side created a several partitions and if you delete or mess with those partitions you might lose the android side. Also i am not sure if one of those partition store the windows 10 licence.

Initially i had to delete a few partitions to get my windows to install as i was getting some errors like you.

From my knowledge the first sets of partitions are for android and the ones at the bottom are for windows.

I going to check my tablet and see what the partitions are like on it.

Does the android side of the tablet works?

    Yes, android is still working,
however it does random reboots, so i’m thinking of flashing the original teclast files (Win + Android).
Anyway, i wanted to use mireks rom, but before I wanted to have a proper dualboot system.

The partitioning of the storage is very confusing, so i’m not sure which partitions to kill.
But good to hear that you faced the same issues, so mayb I will play with the windows installation – and in case the whole system is messed up, flash the original teclast files.
Did you use a partition manager to delete/create the partitions or just the windwos installation tool?

I use the windows installation tools to delete the partitions.

Also make sure you copy the drivers files and touchsetting.gt on the flash drive, you will need those files after you have install windows.
