Aliexpress sells the 906E modem and antennae as a set… email them about antennae only.

My understanding is that the modem drivers are bundled.  Rahul would know.

Unless you cut the case to reveal the SIM slot, you’ll have to open the case to change the SIM.

    Hello…

I am confused. My X2Pro has severe connection problems (wifi), so I decided to buy an M.2 wifi adapter (Intel 7265NGW, http://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B00U8IUTNM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00). But connectors are incompatible with the (supposed) M.2 Teclast connector…

I’ve seen the Huawei 4G adaptor and yes, it’s different from mine (I have attached photos). 🙁

There is any adaptor available, or must return the Intel…?

    Thanks.

You ordered  a wrong interface card. The one which you got is PCIe. Return it and get a correct one with pins similar to the the Huawei module.

    In the specifications…

    •  M.2 2230 Form Factor.
    •  PCIe Interface.

    🙁

I’ve been searching. All M.2 wi-fi cards are “three sections” conector like mine. Mini-PCIe are two. Huawei 4G card too.

All M.2 cards are keyed along the edge connector.   It’s a lock-and-key concept.  The Intel 7265 is keyed A+E and the Huawei ME906x is keyed B.  That tells you the Intel card won’t fit in a socket keyed B (it needs at least a B key), and that the Huawei card may use conductors the Intel lacks, among other things, even if they use the same signalling protocol (e.g., PCIEx2). See:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M.2#KEYING

M.2 cards can be single- or double-keyed… many M.2 storage cards are B+M keyed.

An Intel 4G modem may be available in a B key… just not the 7265.

After the connector key, the most important parts coding in the Huawai card is the “x” part… the frequency bands.  The ME906V shown in the pix is for N.Am., note the FCC certification.  There are different Huawei “x” suffixes for CN, EU, IN, and N.Am., probably more I haven’t seen.

Hi everyone, I would like to thank everyone for all their contributions, after reading users responses in this forum I decided to buy the X2 pro. I ordered the tablet , keyboard and stylus from gearbest while the screen protector from banggoods. I ordered from Gearbest on the 8th of december and finally got a despatched email and tracking number today. I paid extra for expedited delivery and insurance everything came to 413 dollars. I intend to do a fresh install of windows once I get a new ssd card. Has anyone used a 512gb ssd and if they have which one would you recommend?

Just thought I should give you guys an update on X2 pro purchase from gearbest, its been over two weeks and I have still not yet received the items I ordered . The tracking number Gearbest gave me seems to be bogus, I contacted DHL and they stated the following –

“The tracking number you have supplied, although in the correct format for a DHL International Waybill is not showing on our systems.

This may be because the shipper of the item has supplied you with an incorrect tracking number, or has not yet passed the shipment to DHL for transportation and delivery.”

I will be contacting Paypal to raise a dispute with Gearbest and see if I can get a refund.

I recommend you escalate the dispute with paypal. Simply put, GearBest DOES NOT have these tablets. You WILL  NOT get a device from them. Escalate the dispute to a “Claim”. What will happen next is paypal will reach out to GearBest, and they will not respond and will essentially make you wait 10 days, and then paypal will refund you the payment you sent to GearBest. I just went through this process a week ago, and paypal saved the day.

I ordered my tablet from AliExpress from VENSTAR store, and I was extremely happy with shipping speed and It arrived in great condition. I also got the keyboard and stylus from VENSTAR on AliExpress as well.

GearBest is indeed slow, but I would say, it is JUST slow.

I received my X2 Pro 2 week after the payment, but still waiting for the pen (almost 4 weeks after payment) because they did a “different spedition”…. (now i have tracking number with DHL, I’ll receive it in few days…)

Assistance is good, I mail with them in my language and the answers are always well written.

I would say….they are good, but slow.

They have them but are slow.

I got a tracking number about a week before they dispatched my x2, keyboard and pen.  Ordered black Friday and received about a week ago.

    Hi again guys!

Received my 256GB KingSpec ssd, resistalling Windows 10 just now.

I need to clarify something…. now that i have a spare 64GB M.2 ssd card… can I still use it in the free slot?

It seems not for me, I can’t see the old card from windows.

Is the second slot usable only for a 4G/LTE or wifi card?? This would be really a surprise…

Anyway, I too want to buy a wifi card to use that second slot, can you guys suggest me a good one?

One working in the second M.2 slot of the X2 Pro… obviously  😛

Attached some photos of the X2 Pro open, behind the tablet there are standard A4 papers (maybe useful if someone want to take measurements before opening it… maybe…)

@ Riccardo.  This thread will tell you the answers you seek.  The inboard M.2 slot is for a Huawei ME906x 4G modem.  No one has found a wifi modem that works in the inboard M.2 slot (I doubt one will work; the signalling for wifi differs from WWAN signalling, M.2 is the connector spec, not the signalling spec).  No one has found a WWAN modem that will work other than the Huawei ME906x.

    @Jakob
.  Please don’t take this the wrong way, but may I suggest that you move your Gearworst experience to the Gearbest thread in the “online retailers” subforum in the General forum, where it will benefit more members.  What would be very helpful in your post in this thread is your experience with the X2 Pro itself.  🙂
