@the-lord what do you think of the tablet? Is it good, is it worth buying?
September 28, 2015 at 3:40 pm #12067Everything works well for me. I haven;’t been able to use it to full extent due to lack of touchpad drivers and settings. Other than that… it works pretty well for me. I am waiting on Chris to receive his tablet so he can give me the drivers and the touchsettings.gt file from his tablet.
@Daniel, I would suggest you to wait for a full review by Chris before planning to purchase it.September 28, 2015 at 3:54 pm #12068@the-lord great that you are happy with it. Yeah thats exactly what im doing, I hope he gets it soon and that he says that its the best tablet he ever used… 🙂 From what I´ve seen from it it looks really nice and I really want one
September 28, 2015 at 7:40 pm #12083Opened the tablet today. It was easy to open. Started from the Top corner near the volume buttons. The biggest surprise for me was the metal backplate on a plastic frame/shell/skeleton. I was happy to find it out. Pictures attached.
The heatsink is well designed and flush with the soc. However, I saw a black material sheet below the heatsink. The mod which I can think of is to replace the thermal pad with copper plates to make good connection with the backplate. Compared to the CUbe I7 Stylus, I think this is a better designed heatsink. Maybe that is the reason for lesser heat on the backplate while usage.

I thought as much, they use the rear metal shell to help dissipate heat from the copper heat sink (like what Cube do on the i7 Stylus). I think a repaste with some quality thermal paste and then a good thermal pad on the top replacing the stock one might be all that’s needed to lower the temps 10 degrees or so.
Is that thermal pad approx 100mm x 100mm? Or even a large 100x 100 or 150 x 150 thin copper square glued with thermal adhesive paste on the rear housing would maybe lower temps even more if it draws away heat from the main heat sink. I might have to start ordering parts soon if this is a keeper (when I review it)
My X2 Pro ETA is Thursday 🙂 But we have some really bad weather coming this week and knowing my luck it will be Friday or Monday delivery 🙁

Okay not as much as it looks, but still more than my i7 Stylus’s. I think we can work something out to improve temps and performance.

Currently testing: LG G8X & Redmi K30September 29, 2015 at 9:57 am #12132Okay some correction. The thermal heatsink on the soc is around 53mm x 53mm. I got my SSD from Customs todays. I took the correct measurements when I opened it again today to replace the SSD.
Ordered a 99.9% pure 1mm x 100mm X 100 mm copper plate yesterday from Aliexpress. I will be doing some craftwork on the copper plate to make a proper heatsink mod which will sit on top of the existing heatsink. Lets see when I receive it to start some work on it. 🙂
September 30, 2015 at 4:20 pm #12222Okay got mine today! 🙂 I’m typing this on the X2 Pro. Check the drivers section under X2 pro for my drivers dump, you might need some reg files for the accelerometer? Not sure? If I do a fresh install I’ll find out myself.
So far so good, I’m impressed with the tablet. It seems very fast after coming from a Core M Onda V919 3G. Everything is working and in English, but some Chinese letters here and there. (Like the start menu for example) And Bluetooth. Windows 10 Pro install and seems legit. No sign of KSMpico hacktivation. But I do have a spare Win 10 Pro CD key just in case.
All I can say is this might be a keeper, I thought the Cube i7 Stylus was, but I disliked the lack of a full-sized USB 3 port and this has two of them! So I might have found my work tablet 🙂
Unboxing video uploading now. Might take a while it’s a massive 2.3GB. Check the front page of the site for a the video soon and first impressions.

September 30, 2015 at 4:35 pm #12227Thanks mate. I will download and install and check. The Kionix accelerometer got automatically installed through one of Windows 10 updates.
Gratz on receive the tablet before time. :)). Also, is it with 32 bit or 64 bit Windows 10?
September 30, 2015 at 4:53 pm #12228Installed the drivers but now the mouse pointer and the pen pointer keeps jumping around the top left corner if the screen. Dunno what is happening. lol.
Deleted the touchsettings.gt file for the time being to disable the touch.
September 30, 2015 at 5:36 pm #12231Windows 64bit as it should be for the Core M and 64bit UEFI bios. But it seems mine is hacktivated, Windows defender found a threat, turns out to be something called OEM8.exe and it’s a KMS activator….
KMS Auto tool.

taskscheduler:C:\WINDOWS\System32\Tasks\OEM8ServerThese Chinese sellers…grrrr. I waited 2 weeks for him to hack install English on the Windows 10 Chinese Single OS version and then crack the activation… So I will have to remove it and install my own Windows 10 64bit and use my Key. Lucky for me the Win 10 Pro key was only $20 from eBay. I will open a dispute in Ali Express.
Did you reboot after placing the touchsettings.gt file? Also I wouldn’t use the Windows update Kionix accelerometer it’s been known to cause issues on the Chuwi Vi10 and other tablets.
Use my driver and reboot. The touch and orientation drivers are connected.

September 30, 2015 at 5:50 pm #12234I restored all the drivers from the double driver backup. Still no solution to it. I will try again when back at home and see if that helps.
