I was actually thinking of test-driving a Xiaomi Mipad 2 Windows tablet with that discount, should be easy to sell if the small size doesn’t suit me…but

    • comments on Xioami’s forums about the support (lack there of) that the tablet is getting
    • the lack of MicroSD
    • the permanent need to use an adapter on that single micro USB 3.1 slot

makes it kind of worthless. I would basically be getting it only for the better built, but if that was my guiding criteria I would also buy locally available internationally known brands…so it just seems a waste of time and possibly money.

Concerning the Chuwi hi12 on Fast-Tech I would have bought this already with the 15% coupon but a few things bother me:

    1) There are no Cases available and to me this is a problem because I Really hate leaving the device exposed to dust, scratches etc. Had 3 tablets so far which I kept for 12 months each, all made it without the slightest marking

If the only case that comes out is the “keyboard” one, which is expected to cost a lot, this is further discouraging, because then the price of the tablet comes too close to that of Cube i7 Stylus (SSD, Core M, Stylus support) which I can get for about 270 Euros.

    2) the tablet is not in stock, but “pre-ordered”; so we don’t know really when FastTech will receive it and when it will start shipping them. It says Feb 19th but I don’t really see that happening.

I don’t even like the Gold-White colour and I was hoping to get a hold of the Grey one. But only the former is available now.

    3) So by the time it actually ships and reaches us
    – the price could very well drop, so the discount may not be as significant as it now seems
    – the gray colour could be then available, but we’ll be left with that awful Gold.
    – we may not even get the tablet early enough compared with later orders.

    4) Then there is Chuwi’s deafening silence on their website concerning the Chuwi Hi12 versions…no mention of Stylus support, no mention of colours, no mention of compatible cases, nothing.
…seems like it tried to release it early to get a head-start from everybody else, but that may not be that important, all-things considered, for the consumer.

    5) To that add the “rule” that early builds suffer from small defects and I am now basically arguing with myself on whether to buy it or not.

    6) Given that Fast-Tech only offers a 6month warranty from the date of shipment (NOT receipt) when other sellers offer 12months from date of receipt, the odds are stacking up against me finally placing the order.

Of course I would never pay to get tablet at its original price of 250$

Just requested to cancel the chewi hi12 order. I would prefer the USB full interface, but the extra weight etc doesn’t seem worth it. I think if I buy another tablet I’ll get this UK Offer on the surface pro 3, with keyboard and stylus for 390£. But for now i’m rather happy with my x98 plus. Hopefully someone will figure out the write speed issue on the eMMC drive tho.

Me too. I’m thinking about an x16 pro (260 € at gearbest EU warehouse) but it is too big for my needs, so atm I would keep my x98 plus.
