That’s good news! Also , the PayPal dispute helped and GearBest refunded my money pretty quickly. I asked the Ali seller for for the correct AC adapter for Israel and few other questions and he was pretty quick to respond..so.. So far so good. BTW, I asked for the original package and said “no problem”. I guess he sends original packages anyway but I wanted to be sure.

Thanks for that. Yes, I too much prefer the original packaging. Makes it easier to sell on but more importantly, it’s a bit like an old vinyl record album cover. The packaging is an integral part of the finished product as designed by the producer. Stupid I know but whatever floats your boat.
January 27, 2016 at 9:52 am #23943a little feedback from me. I have bought the x98 plus dual boot from aliexpress (OKQI). Vendor has been really helpful with questions and concerns. He shipped the same day and the package arrived yesterday (4 days in total).
I havent had the chance to play with it properly. The hardware seems really solid. Windows install is quite clean. English language installed however some titles in some of the win menus are still in chinese – not sure why. No office suite (not that I was expecting it though).
Android on the other hand is full of chinese cr*p. The google play store is there (somebody was asking about this in another topic) however yesterday I have tried to open it several times and it was always crashing after few secs. I guess the whole android part would need a clean reinstall. Could somebody point me out on where I could find info on this?
I will try the device deeper in these days, however if you have any specific questions you want to ask please do so.
January 27, 2016 at 11:34 am #23946How fast!!! Do you live near China? Very interesting to know about the problems in android, but only a few already have the Tablet so difficult to solve problems…
January 27, 2016 at 1:56 pm #23975Nope – I’m in the UK – shipped through DHL express from HK.

Hi Michele. Me being a tightwad, my X98 Plus is taking the slowboat from China so it could be two-three weeks before i see it. The Play store problem concerns me. Google is banned in china and it makes me wonder whether the Dual Boot OS has been properly tested by Teclast for customers outside of China. I daresay there will be a quick fix solution involving rooting but i don’t really want to get into that. I need it to work out straight of the box as it has a job to do. Out of interest, did DHL sting you for some extra money?
January 27, 2016 at 4:50 pm #23999Hi Michele,
Glad you got your tablet!
Did you let the seller know about this issue (play store) already?January 27, 2016 at 4:57 pm #24001I’ll get back with some more feedback on the Play store – it might have been something temporary and maybe it just needed a reboot. I didn’t have time to try it properly. On the other hand a clean version of android would be something good to have.
DHL shipment was a little more expensive – c.15$. I had to pay 20£ of custom as well.
January 27, 2016 at 11:37 pm #24098Ordered one from Aliexpress (OKQI) on 25th and it seems it has been shipped already. Paid the $15 for the DHL shipping but no tracking yet. Apparently once it hits Hong Kong it will show DHL tracking. Already bought a cover and glass screen protector when I ordered one from Banggood but cancelled order because shipping slipped to 29th Dec. Looking forward to playing with this. Had an original Onda 9.7″ Windows tablet. Only 2GB RAM and 32GB drive but wasn’t bad. This should be far better although a bit concerned if Android is hosed on it.

Thanks michele. Interested in a future update on the google play store. I’d have thought that Teclast should be fully aware by now of how to prepare a new Android/Dual Boot product knowing that a number of them will be exported. Then again, if Teclast were in a hurry to get it shipped out… who knows? It’s all part of the ‘fun’ of purchasing Chinese tablets.

Hello. Would you be able to look at the BIOS and let us know about the BIOS version as well as options available? Is your windows 10 laggy also? Thanks
January 28, 2016 at 2:27 pm #24143Hi,
I ordered the X98 Plus Dual from geekbuying on Jan 22nd and it is still in the status “processing”. Did anybody else order it from there?
Cheers
January 28, 2016 at 7:40 pm #24179hi fload,
I had returned a faulty x98 air 3g that I ordered at geekbuying and they wanted to send me another one with different processor, I asked if they wanted to send a x98 plus dual instead. that was no problem but they got them at the earliest at the end of the month, possibly within the first week of february. So maybe next week. lets hope so.
January 28, 2016 at 8:15 pm #24181Hi I had a chance to try to store properly and it works just fine. I have been able to install the apps I wanted and it never crashed like it did the first time. Once cleaned up from the Chinese apps android side works fine.
Seyvya – If u tell me how to check it, i can let u know about the BIOS version as well.

I ordered on the 20th and they informed me it shipped on the 24th but the tracking they gave me just says “information received…” and shows no other movement, not even pick up.
