Glad too you got it MadMax,
For my record :
Bios update :
<p style=”text-align: left;”> Bios update and W10 Driver just in cas

<p style=”text-align: left;”>TOTAL SYSTEM BACKUP : Acronis seems to be unable to handle tablets, aleas, but no confirmation here, any information will be great about it. (acronis or any other)

<p style=”text-align: left;”>So system restore point…
<p style=”text-align: left;”>Open Start > Settings and in the search box type create a restore point. Click the matching result, select the drive you want to use to store your restore point (typically the system drive) and click Configure > Turn on system protection. This action activates the system restore functionality. Click OK to confirm, and in the main window click Create… to create a restore point, and give it a name

<p style=”text-align: left;”>Windows factory reset :

Open Start > Settings > Update & Security to begin, selecting Recovery in the left-hand menu. Under Reset this PC, click or tap Get Started, and use the Keep my files option. A warning will be displayed; a second may appear if you have upgraded to Windows 10 from a previous version, and informs you that resetting will prevent you from undoing the upgrade. If you’re happy, proceed with theReset.
@MadMax : I’m wondering why do you use it please ?December 11, 2015 at 11:26 am #18176Anonymous

You don’t have to do a factory reset but many recommend it. It is much easier to turn off the windows data collection (spyware). After the reset completes you are given the option tò turn these features off.
Also the seller could have possibly installed their own virus or spyware. It has been an issue with many phones out of China. Better safe than sorry!

December 12, 2015 at 12:23 am #18247Yeah, I would never run the OS install these ship with.
I always prefer to do a fresh format/install as I’m not 100% certain the factory reset is as thorough. (Is it?) Anyway, since these tablets are so specialized / new / finicky is it a problem to do a fresh Win10 format/install from USB media? I don’t want to brick the thing when I finally get it. 🙂
December 19, 2015 at 1:38 am #19147I just got my tablet from Banggood, and it is charging now. I want to do a fresh install of Windows 10. Do I just put an image of Windows 10 from their official website onto an SD card that is plugged in the tablet to install it after getting the drivers from this site? And then I use the activation key I extracted to install it? I’ve never done this before and don’t want to mess up 🙁
EDIT: I guess I need a USB hub for this correct?

I personally would not recommend a fresh install of windows myself. The drivers for these devices are very specific and require that you manually install the ones that the fresh install doesn’t. You need a hub so you can plug in a keyboard and mouse (required for bios), and your usb flash drive for your windows install media.
Judging from the length of time the windows factory reset took on my Plus (2-3 hours), it basically IS a fresh install, except the teclast specific drivers are installed automatically. Don’t panic if it seems to hang at 9% and 41% for a long time….be patient.
Good Luck, I’m sure you will love your new tablet, I think it’s and excellent choice for a windows tablet, I’m getting over 8 hrs on a charge with mine since I turned off the background apps sending/receiving data in the settings page.

December 24, 2015 at 3:33 am #19768Thanks. Yeah I just went ahead and did a factory reset instead. It’s hanging at 47% for a couple hours right now. Gonna leave it plugged into a charger and let it run over night. Hopefully it’s done tomorrow morning :S
December 24, 2015 at 10:24 am #19788I usually do a doubledriver backup and then format and clean install from ISO from MS website and restore drivers after. Didn’t had any issues with Chuwi HI8 or PIPO tablets so far…
December 24, 2015 at 5:31 pm #19845Okay left it on overnight and it was still stuck at 47%. Unplugged the USB charger and left it and it was still stuck. Ended up making a win10 USB and booted it. Got windows 10 working again and installed all the drivers, but the touch input isn’t working and I’m only able to use a mouse from the USB hub. any ideas?
Works just like when I got it and extremely snappy and responsive!
EDIT: Gave it a restart and everything works perfectly now!

Excellent, glad it all worked out. I made sure to keep mine from sleeping during the reset, that may be why it didn’t complete. At least you saved yourself the 2 hour windows update.

December 30, 2015 at 3:05 pm #20565Hello all and Merry Xcrismas
I’ve already got mine. All working fine. Beside, it came with a 128GB microSD card into the slot (nice) but with a lot of Android files on it. Thought it could be a DualBoot but nop
I has come with the latest BIOS and now trying to do a Windows Reset but no way, it has stopped at 49% (around 5 hours) Any idea?
