I’m going to contact paypal if GearBest doesn’t ship it out within a week of September 30th. They claim that’s when they are getting “restocked”.

I’m wondering if they even had stock to begin with though…

Ordered from Gearbest on Sept 12. Still no shipment. At what point should we just cancel and file a dispute with Paypal?

@hoodedstraw Thanks for the posts on the Android side of things, I posted it on the main page of the site for those interested. And lucky you as you got your one already, mine has yet to ship. Boo hoo (GB are slow with this one!)

How are temps in Android? I wonder if the interactive CPU or on demand governor used lets the cores turbo for so long in Android. Might be more “normal” and therefore not overheating and throttling? Use and app like CPU temp to monitor it if you can. Thanks!

Can you also run Geekbench 3 in Android? Be interesting to see if it’s higher than Windows.

Based on others not receiving their x98 Pros from Gearbest, I cancelled my order today (Sept 27) and requested a Paypal refund. Within 2 hours, Gearbest replied they had posted the refund, and Paypal acknowledged receipt of it. This changed my perception of the company as one I’d do business with again. Yes, they may have sold an out-of-stock or soon-to-be-in-stock item, but they were also very prompt to grant the refunds.

I got it from Zimexport.com

Initially they gave me the first date Sept 15th but finally the delay was to 20th. Looks that they have stock now.

My tablet has been shipped (we truly working tracking number) on Sept. 21st

Hope it will arrive soon; just confirm that, at least those website has real stock

I’ve got mine last Friday, bought on AliExpress on the 15th Sep. -20% sell off.

I do like it, win 10 home 64bit updated to my language german and all other updates fine.

Android was 5.1 and no newer version, however you can de-install (allmost ?) all chinese apk. and go with google apk.

Aida64 shows me rooted but SU won’t install proper so no real root. Hope we’ll get a hack for that.

Well, asked BG again on the status..

As usually I got a “meh” answer.
So no new status on when they are going to ship the item

So I have been emailing back and forth with GearBest and it doesn’t look good.

They originally claimed that they would have stock on September 30th.

I asked them if they could guarantee that my order would ship within a few days of September 30th and the answer was a clear no…

I really hope they aren’t playing the “wait out the paypal complaint period” game.

The only reason I haven’t filed a paypal complaint is because I got one of the massive discounts on it during the promotion. If I had payed around  $240.oo USD then the order would have already been cancelled.

I’m going to wait to see what happens but I’m  definitely cancelling before the limit expires on paypal. I would suggest anyone that payed with paypal do the same before the complaint time limit is up.

I don’t have a good feeling about GearBest being able to ship any units any time soon. Hopefully, I’m wrong…

I bought the X98 Pro on GearBest the 14 Sept ($241)

Now, with ‘EMX98′ coupon code, i’s only $229.99. I opened a ticket but they won’t do anything. Thay said to me : “We are now processing the shipment for you. Please wait 3-7 business days for your order to be shipped.” (this morning).

On Banggood, it’s $228.95 with “retailmenot’ coupon code.

I don’t know what to do. I really liked Gearbest but with this, I have the impression to be treated like shit. Even it’s the fault of the supplier.

Any news about Geekbuying? What would you do in my place ?

edit : payed with Paypal. Should I open a dispute ? Just contact GB again for canceling my order?

I ordered before the 17th…

According to their customer service it’s not in stock. I’m not sure how they are getting it shipped out to you withing 3-7 business days when they don’t even have any.

They claim they are getting them on September 30th but can’t guarantee that my order will ship out withing a few days of then…

So it seems that they don’t know when they are actually going to receive them or how many they will get.

They definitely are lying to one of us because they can’t ship what they don’t have…
