My review of the BMAX Y13 can be found here: https://techtablets.com/bmax-y13/review/
Finally something of interest again, this one popped up on Gearbest and looks promising. BMAX (Not a brand I’ve reviewed) has a laptop similar to the Teclast F5 but only bigger and with the important 8GB of DDR4 RAM. The Y13 it’s called and has a 13.3″ IPS panel with slim 5mm bezels on the sides and a 360-degree hinge! 10 touchpoint support and because it’s not mentioned it’s safe to assume the touchpanel glass is non-laminated. So it will have a gap hopefully only 1mm or less.
The chipset is the Gemini Lake Celeron N4100 2.4Ghz quad-core, Intel still hasn’t released a successor to this one. Storage is 256GB SSD and it l has a spare M.2 slot for easy expansion. The full-size backlit keyboard layout features full-sized arrow keys, but the power button is where the DEL key is.
It has Wireless AC but also BT 5.0 they mention so that can’t be the Wireless AC 3165 Intel chip as it has BT 4.1. Must be a newer 9000 series wireless card which is good. The press info mentions “Magic Speakers” whatever that means. Maybe just louder than normal. Overall it looks quite interesting apart from one big caveat. No full-sized USB. It has two USB Type-C ports. One is full spec, so power delivery, video, and data. D/C in, 3.5mm and MicroSD slot. At least one type-A USB port should be on the laptop. But it is thin and just 1.2 kilos!
I’m going to review this one.
I’m interested in battery life, thermals and hopefully unlocked bios for easy power limit tweaks. So look for a review of this one in a few weeks as I’ve got one ordered. It’s selling for $359 which is a bit pricey, but considering the Chuwi Lapbook Pro with the same RAM and chipset is about that now and this Y13 has a full spec type-C and touchscreen.
