Chuwi HiPad Review

Below is the video review of the Chuwi HiPad, sadly this MediaTek Helio X27 tablet turned out worse than expected with poor performance, touch input lag. Yet another case of the Helio X20 series performing poorly. The cause is either poor software optimization, not enough or not fast enough RAM. Or it has thermal throttling on the 10 core chip causing this slow choppy performance. (Which may or may not be fixable with a copper heatsink mod)

Or as many like to claim when I review a lemon, I got a faulty unit. Maybe I did? The rating with pros and cons can be found below.

  1. How is the thermals Chris, does it gets hot with MediaTek Helio X2?

    • It doesn’t feel hot to the touch at all. But I have a feeling the SoC is getting hot and throttling. A copper shim might just fix it for good. I may mod it once I’m back in Spain.
