T-Bao Tbook Air / Civiltop Air Review

The Civiltop Air or T-Bao Tbook Air as it’s also known as. The little laptop surprised and turned out to be the fastest N3450 laptop review yet when it came it gaming FPS performance. It’s very light 1.08 kilos, super thin and portable with a 12.5-inch screen. However, it has a big con that’s going to be a deal breaker for a lot of people. Only one USB 3.1 Type-C port and 3.5mm audio port with mic support. Nothing else! Taking the good from the bad an adaptor is included in the box and the port is a full spec one, so charging, data and display out all work at the same time. I was able to run my 4k TV at 30Hz, charge and use an external mouse and keyboard all from that one port. So Type-C hubs work great one it. But still, missing one full USB port and a MicroSD card.

The keyboard is good to type on and the keyboard is firm without hardly any flex. The touchpad is also decent, however, the fingerprint reader I just could not get to work no matter what I tried. Always resulted in a driver conflict error. Another issue is a temp Windows 10 licence was used to install Windows 10. As soon as I connected to the internet it asked me to buy or use a valid licence as the one used was due to expire. Not cool!

The 12.5-inch screen isn’t bad, good colours and bright too. I think it’s the same panel as used in the Xiaomi Mi Notebook 12.5″. Spec wise it’s not too bad at all for an Apollo Lake Celeron N3450, 4GB DDR3 dual channel (Faster than normal timings),128GB SSD, Intel Wireless AC 3165 dual antennas. 30Wh battery. See below for the full Pros and Cons and don’t forget to check out the video review above if you’re really interested in this model.
