It’s probably best to wait a while for other opinions before opening your tablet but for reference:
- If you face the screen with the pogo pins pointing down the power pins are the leftmost and the second from the right.
- The 4 screws on the sides must be removed, they are torx t4.
- There are YouTube videos of opening the Vi10.
- The IC that provides VBUS to the ports is on the underside of the PCB.
- The ribbon connectors all have clamps that are stuck down with a soft adhesive.
- There is a shield that covers the SoC, eMMC, RAM, Flash and PMIC.
- There is second shield that covers something else(probably WiFi)
- Both shields are covered with tape but you don’t need to peel it all off (in fact it’s probably not worth taking them off)
- The shields are only clipped in but if you choose to take them off please support the PCB.
