After many weeks I finally got the keyboard cover for the Jumper EZpad 5Se The overall experience is still awful. The cover doesn’t fit well, the magnets are weak I guess–so the keyboard doesn’t stay on very well. The angle for typing is so so. The keys have decent size but are spaced close together so its not great to type. Overall this tablet is pretty awful. My main points
- Performance is very poor. It just is very sluggish
- Despite being sluggish, battery life is awful. 4.5 hours max, even with screen brightness at 0%. I think they put in a small battery given the size.
- The pre-attached screen protector scratches easily when using the included wacom stylus.
- Charging is slow on the micro-usb port. I have not been able to locate a dc charger that fits so far.
- Screen is…not great either.
- The wacom stylus and screen are inconsistent in experience. Some lag I think due to slow processor.
- Built quality is ok…but the keyboard is ill-fitting and not the standard of the tablet.
- Terrible speakers. But oddly, even using the headphone port is still very weak.
Overall this is very poor. I guess I would be more forgiving if the battery life was passable, but it is very very bad. Asus just released their new tablet–the transformer mini t102ha which seems vastly better so far–although here in the USA it is quite a bit more expensive..
- better screen–really bright even at low levels
- included keyboard and pen
- better performance
- VASTLY better battery. This is listed as 11 hours and the actual run time is very close. I’ve been extremely impressed with battery life so far.
- 801ac wireless instead of just 801n with the jumper tablet
- fingerprint sensor
- LOUD speakers
So far I am happy with the transformer. I wish the keyboard was a tiny bit bigger, but I do think I will get used to it. And its all included! <h1 id=”title” class=”a-size-large a-spacing-none”></h1>
I agree with ALL of your main points David!! The battery life of this tablet is TERRIBLE… I can only get roughly around 3 hours from 100% to 20% after using it continuously for web browsing and working with documents… That is BAD! Other tablets like the Chuwi Hi10 can be up to 6 hours of continuous use!! If only I knew about the Chuwi tablet and the drawbacks of the EZpad 5SE before buying it :((
The main reason why I bought this tablet is because of the MS Surface imitation. I really liked the idea of having 2 full-sized USB ports, a DC charging port and a microUSB port as well for charging (which can be convenient with powerbanks), a kickstand, stylus support and a “type cover” keyboard! But boy I did not expect the battery life to be this bad since the capacity is around 6600mAh… Its similar to the Chuwi Hi10 but very different in terms of battery life! Why is this even happening? Do you think it has to do with the software? Maybe it is not optimized thus the battery drains quickly? I wonder if there will be a fix for this issue since most users are obviously experiencing this…
And the speakers, MY GOD. I thought mine was faulty! Turns out its just that bad to begin with… Mine seems to be louder for the right speaker than the left.. Maybe the left speaker is faulty, but plugging in earphones the volume is still low as you said! How is this even possible… Usually earphones volume should be loud and clear no matter what the brand the device is.. I guess the Jumper just has too many flaws :///
I really thought this brand was good enough.. Apparently my research wasn’t enough. Because I saw reviews of the Jumper EZbook 2 to be mostly positive, with good build quality and battery life and reviewers recommend them, thinking it would be the same for the EZpad 5SE! But they don’t even have a proper website… Thats already an indication that its not a reputable company :S At least Teclast and Chuwi especially, have a proper support page! They even provide firmware and drivers for their devices.
Honestly I feel like crying and stupid to even buy this product as I am a student… Money is limited for me and I was betting for this to be a good investment for me to use on the go. And I lost the bet because its a very bad product! :'( Should’ve stick to buying the Chuwi Hi10 because at least that model has full sized USB ports and keyboard cover as well… I could live without the stylus and kickstand as long as the battery life is acceptable.. But I didn’t know then such model was available >.<
Please, if anyone can give me some comforting words regarding this predicament it would be highly appreciated. Or if anyone knows a fix to the battery issues that would be even better! Battery is the main thing I’m hating at the moment second to the very low volume of the device…
